    Possibly?

With quotes like 'Ali Raymi is a god amongst men', 'Ali Raymi eats GOAT for breakfast'?

The Raymi ish started when he was like 14 - 0 though, and merely a local curiosity (which he arguably still is), but since he's somehow become ranked I suppose it is easier to mistake the jokes for genuine hyperbole given the general level of BS on the forum.

And yes, Raymis entire career has been fought out of 2 or 3 sports clubs in that Mecca of boxing, the Yemen, against Yemeni locals (possibly with one or two from neighbouring countries).
I'm amazed anyone took that s#it seriously though.

OTOH while I can kinda see the reasoning, I can't completely subscribe to the idea that having a high rate of KOs necessarily implies a poor level of competition. It's wise to be sceptical of the high KO rates, and almost always as the level of competition rises the KO rate declines, but occasionally a fighter is just that much better than their peers.

who they fought and when is how fighters should be judged - nothing more
I don't see how a fighter's '0' and how many knockouts he's had has ANY relevance if they don't come into play based on who they fought and when

it's so unfortunate that the super 6 was held, a successor to calzaghe found, and then the importance of having one recognized champion in a division (the purpose of the tourney) has been thrown into limbo by the victor himself rather than, ironically, the federations

An 0 and who they fought and when is often very important. I admit not in every case, but definately in many.
For example a fighter losing on points early in their career can often be overlooked, but, if that fighter gets KOd, it often shows that there is a weakness that will likely be exposed later.
If an established fighter is beaten, it often shows a blueprint on how to beat them. For example, I recall someone saying something along the lines of De La Hoya laid down the blueprint on how to beat Trinidad and Hopkins used the blueprint to better effect, because the weakness had been shown.
I have wondered if this is why Ward had not fought Bute, as the only weakness shown at that time was against Andrade. Kessler and Froch had been exposed and were at that time older worn SMWs

I think its fair to have Floyd at #1, but there are many fighters I would have above Ward at #2, Gonzalez, Rigo, Pac, Marquez, Wlad, Garcia, Bradley, Cotto instantly spring to mind and I expect there are several more that I would think of if I thought about it

but you're only playing that angle because the '0 argument' gives you a lifeline to judge ward (which has some relevance), and implying Kessler was somehow a lesser mortal after calzaghe retired, is what you use to uphold calzaghe's 'perceived superiority' over ward - who you are keen to discredit because calzaghe and his legacy are what shape your posts - when it should be what you genuinely think without bias

I don't know why you don't accept this and become a better poster for it

i'm not suggesting that you lose your passion for calzaghe, just that you let go of the allegiances that obscure your ability to post objectively

EDIT : can't stick around and debate today. will check it out next time i'm on

You have a Calzaghe obsession and obviously have some deep rooted hurt, because you dont even know much about Calzaghes career or the fighters he beat earlier in his career before Lacy. With that you are not able to really debate that subject.
You keep going on about better poster rubbish, because you have no angle for any debate with me, because you do not have the knowledge.
This thread is about P4P #2, a mythical thing and you noted 0s. I explained how an 0 can matter and Ward saw things that Calzaghe exposed to aid his win, with that you put Kessler on the back foot for example.
Funny thing is, after Kessler lost to Calzaghe and before he fought Ward, the very magazine that gives these mythical P4P ratings, stated Kessler had not been the same since Calzaghe beat him on their top 100 fighters of the year on that year . They noted Kessler hadnt been the same and then factor in vision problems, but hey that wouldnt suit your agenda. Be a better poster HMB

I Find it hilarious one could try to factor in a fighters higher actively level for helping one move up a mythical list. Lmfao, this forum has gone completely in the gutter

I guess not fighting is factored in then? Then Ward remain ranked despite not fight.

  9. Totally wrecked a very good fighter.

In the next couple years he could establish himself as one of the very greatest "small" fighters of all time. Historically he'll never be like Jimmy Wilde and maybe not Pancho Villa, but he could be right behind. I already rate him higher than Ricardo Lopez and close with Miguel Canto.

A fight With Naoya Inoue is going to be HUGE in Japan when it happens.

Naoya Inoue is a weight below and 21 i think, he already looks amazing but give him at least 2-3 years before putting him in with Roman

How is Ward still at 3? Pacquiao ranks above him clearly. Ward isn't even in my top 5 now

    1 Mayweather
    2 Pacquiao
    3 Rigondeaux
    4 Gonzalez
    5 Klitschko

Roman has a great future ahead and has already put in some work, but he ain't anywhere close to Canto.

Even over Lopez, who has one of the weakest resume of any highly regarded fighter, is a push. Ricardo's win over Alvarez is better than anything Gonzalez has, for example.

Inoue's moving straight to 112. Yesterday was his last fight at 108 due to REAL weight problems.

Inoue will face the winner of Ruenroeng vs. Arroyo (taking place next Wednesday), in December.

Ruenrog is gonna box and move and get a decision win but I think inoue beats him on points based on landing the harder blows and making the fight
