Both hit harder than Mosley for sure. So if they landed clean (which is possible:cool:), Floyd would be knocked out.

His chin is good, but that nonsence by Floyd fans that he takes better shot than Margarito is pure ****.

Margarito ate hundreds of Mosle's best shots till he was hurt. Floyd was hurt twice by TWO Mosley shots.

His punch resistance is decent but lets get real here...it's his defense that stops him from getting knocked out not his ability to take hard blows to the head.

If either of those guys caught Floyd clean with hard punches, he would get knocked out.

I agree and I think there's a long list of fighters that could stop Floyd if he were to be hit clean.

8/10 perhaps. Floyd ate flush shots from Judah, Mosley etc Floyd gets
Stopped mid to late against Hearns.

I would say more along the lines of 7/10 maybe 7.5/10. Hard to place him higher than that when a past prime SSM rocked him with one punch.

Of course he would, and how that's even debatable is beyond me.

Very, very good chin. Exceptional in any era.

When the worst you can dredge up is that a few guys (who are each known to have buzzed/wobbled/dropped/stopped many other reputably sturdy fighters) kinda sorta maybe caused his legs to buckle a tiny bit with a peach of a shot - you've really got nothing.

Yeah, alright - Castillo, Judah, Corley, and some others got his attention in some of the rare instances where a serious and spiteful power hit completely bypassed his defenses for a flush landing. Fact is, nobody since the great amateur Lorenzo Aragón has officially knocked him down (read all about it here: http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=456941) - and that was 48 fights ago.

What is this logic? I guess Kinchen, Butler, DeWitt and Colbert must have ATG chins then? Each went the distance with Hearns (and two of them got off the canvas many times, shrugging off his finishing attempts) and each has a handful of KO losses to others. :think

Do we suppose any of those guys were as defensively sound or athletically gifted as Mayweather? :think

Yeah, it would be a matter not subject to debate if we said "Hearns would badly hurt Mayweather if Mayweather stood in place and gave him a free shot on the chin" - because Hearns possessed the kind of power where you can put just about anyone's name in history in that sentence and have it be true - but are we 100% sure Hearns would land something hard enough flush enough to put Mayweather in major KO jeopardy when he managed to not do so against lesser opposition several times in his career? :think

It's good for sure, but if he had a style of say, Froch, I'd guess he'd taste the canvas more often than Froch does.
