The logic is simple. If you don't get hit that doesn't mean you don't have a good chin, it means you have a great defense. In order to test your chin you actually have to be hit. And when Floyd was hit cleanly by SSM, he wobbled. Judah also made him wobble as did chop chop. So you've answered your own question with the remarks when you said when someone bypassed his defense for a flush landing they "got his attention" which to me means (a) they hurt him and (b) his chin isn't all that great. You Floyd fanatics operate under the assumption that nobody in history can hit the guy, I disagee. You then say because he can't get hit, he has a great chin. Again I disagree.
actually i think leonard would stop mayweather with tenacity, better boxing and speed and accuracy. mayweather would probably be stopped by a succession of punches rather than a big right hand that hearns would deliver. leonard > hearns.
whats floyds prime weight again? what , would hearns do to manny for arguments sake then? what embittered fools you guys are, because boxes with intelligence!!
The guy has fought championship caliber fighters across 5 divisions over the course of 18 years. No one has scored a legit KD against him and you can count on one hand how many times he's been visibly hurt. I'd say his chin is pretty good, his defense is exceptional.
WW is Floyd's 4 division where he's routintely outweighed by 10-15 pounds. WW is Hearn's 1st division, and he was a pretty big WW. Still growing. He has a very good chin. Not amazing. But very good. Solid 7 or 8 out of 10
18 years in the game and has never been dropped once officially. Jesus Christ... This man's chin could probably withstand shots to the head from an aluminium bat. I would not doubt it myself.
good chin, exceptional defence is probably about right. You don't go 46 fights at the level Floyd has fought at without being knockout down in a big way or knocked out without possessing a good chin. I don't think it's as solid as somebody like Froch, but it's solid enough to do it's job on the rare occasions a big shot gets through. I was more impressed with his toughness against Mosely than his chin.
Also the problem with boxing now is that as soon as a fighter gets knocked out or knocked down, stupid boxing fans say he has no chin which is complete BS. Some of the fighters with the best chins in the history of boxing have been knocked down and knocked out. It's a fight and there's no man on earth who can't be hurt or knocked out. Ali got knocked down or rocked quite a fair bit, it doesn't mean he had no chin.
its not vitali range or anything like that. not even calzaghe range. hes been wobbled and held on for dear life before. its his condition that has helped him out of those dangerous situations and ring smarts
