I have been absolutely in love with Buitrago. And he was clearly robbed against the hometown Sabillo in his last fight. How would you describe his style? His smooth, swift punching on top of excellent head movement and composure is going to the something special.
Very similar to Gonzalez, really. A lot of Chocolatito has rubbed off on Chocorroncito from training with him. (...have you seen their sparring video? [yt]zCPA2ueUqVk[/yt] Fit to whack off to...no homo...) Like el Flaco Explosivo before them, both Chocs have ridiculously hard, straight and accurate jabs that seem more like they belong in a video game more than real life. Both can work crisp powerful combos off the jab or from a defensive position after slipping punches in rhythm while circling, which both do incredibly well. Both can work the body as well as if they hailed from 2,000 miles north in Mexico. Really very little not to like about the way either guy operates in the ring.
Didn't know that Ioka ducked him but I know it was reported that Yaegashi turned that fight down. Gonzalez v Estrada 2 needs to happen at Flyweight. A win now would also be a lot more meaningful that it was it 2012.
Flyweight, in general, is deep; and Gonzalez might be the best and most talented fighter in a division that is arguably in its latest Golden Age.
I don't feel Estrada will stay in 112 that long, 2015 he will be fighting Omar Narvaez @115 if he keeps the long reign Estrada 2 is a great fight, but reality is that Estrada might look the other way because he rather fights moving up Ioka, knowing that Gonzalez is moving up to 115 fast. Roman Gonzalez is the higher IQ fighter between the two, so I expect him to do better in the rematch :thumbsup
What are some of your thoughts on El Chocolatito? Do you think he should be compared to the likes of Ricardo Lopez? This guy is probably the most skilled, complete fighter right now. And yet no one still knows about him. Definitely a Top 10 P4P fighter who should fight for either HBO or Showtime.
ive been trying for a few years to get hold of some of this guy's fights...... could anyone point me in the right direction?
