Pre-10 point must system? Were the fights scored by rounds since Sullivan (9-6 in 15 rd fight for example?) Did the knockdowns affect total scores? Example: fight was scored 7-7-1 and there were KDs, were the rounds taken off? What's about supplemental scoring (in case of draw), how it was scored? Points taken off for low blows, now it's 9-9 round, 70 years ago it was different I believe. The round went to the opponent even if he was dominated but his opp. scored low blow? Any posts from knowlegable users are welcome:good
In Argentina there was a 20 point system. Strangely enough with that system and all those points available there was always a relatively high amount of draws. I think that was because you had to win by more than 2 points. In some fights in Brazil it was like that as well-
Yes I've read about that. That's why Monzon had so many draws. If two judges had the fight closer than 3 points, it was declared a draw.
The one more interesting rule from Great Britain, the winner of the round gets 1 point, the loser - 3/4 point. That's why Frazier - Bugner was so close on the referee's card.
Did the rule that low blow costs you a round mean that: If you knocked down opponent 3 times, and then hit him low, you'll stil lose the round. 0-1 score on judges' cards. Today it would be different - 10-6 round minus 1 point, 9-6 on cards.
