There is no way Kovalev would still be firing big punches with Calzaghe in round 8, he'll be gassed by then. Flat footed and eating rapid fire shots.

I'll say this. Kovalev needs a KO and very early. There a 0% chance he could win a decision. If he can't find that lucky Sundae punch early then he has no chance. Calzaghe was a rough dude, if Kovalev clips him he won't cower like Cleverly did he'll come right back at him with a blazing 8-10 punch combination.
Kovalev at this point is really unproven. He's clearly a dangerous puncher but so was Lacy. I don't think he will be able to cope with Calzaghe workrate and handspeed. Kovalev isn't an exceptionally fast fighter.
Watch the Lacy fight and see how fast and smooth Joe gets in and out of the pocket, landing punches and getting out before Lacy can land. That's what he'd do to Kovalev.

Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev is a different animal to eubanks, hopkins, jones, kessler. He is a Decapitator, Joe Calzaghe in my books is a respectable top 3 168lber but get him against a big Lhw In Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev with that power, guile, punch placement and killer attitude, Top finishing abilities there will only be one result, Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev by late round KO.

I have seen the skills, speed and non stop action of Joe Pride of Wales Calzaghe and i dont think it would be enough to keep Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev off him.

The easiest and laziest way to attempt to discredit someone is to ridicule their opinion rather than debate......

Just looked at your comment history and shockingly you are a Calzaghe hater and a Jones apologist. Quite shocking indeed.

I don't know if i should laugh or cry.. It's obvious you're to great a fan of Calzaghe to be objective about his greatness and chances against a Prime RJJ but this is. Don't get me wrong i'd love Calzaghe to be as good as you make him because that would make Kessler - who is my hero great too since he put up a competitive fight against him. Are you serious about Roy looking better against Joe 4(!) years and another 2 losses since he lost to Tarver? Come on..
