Who do you guys got in this match up between two devastating left handed punchers who received much hype when at their peaks? I feel both guys were very dangerous and good fighters when in their primes and were better then many fighters who were able to capture world championships.

If Gerry were to have beaten Ruddock, it would have had to have been by a quick knockout with an all out assault with nothing from RR getting through in the process.

Yes he was with one exception being when Lewis knocked him out in two rounds. But I guess it can happen to anyone, he took the best shots Tommy Morrison and Mike Tyson had an never stayed down.

The Cooney that fought Holmes would beat any version of Ruddock in my opinion...

Cooney could have been a lot better but he let than loss the Holmes pretty much ruin his career, too much inactivity, and lack of confidence...

You wouldn't think a guy named Donovan would be tough enough to have a nick name like Razor. But, like Tyson said "he hits like a f@#$ mule kick," and - Cooney's chin wasn't conducive to mule kicks. I'll take DRR, by a devastating brain scrambling, nose flattening, head flying off the shoulders knock out.

For God's sake im gonna keep saying it...Cooney is the most over rated HW on here.
    Ruddock wins.
Cooney came to prominence with the most glued together resume ever.He blasted out a few shot 'names' who were right at the arse end of their career.
He was well marketed aided by his skin colour and yes to be fair he put up a good show v Holmes. After that he did nothing, zilch, nada,a bit fat zero.
In younger days he was a capable slugger but he had crude skills and poor discipline outside the ring.
I just don't get the clamour for him.

This is one of those fights that could really go either way, so I can't choose a victor with any certainty. Both were big men with devastating power and signature left hand punches. Both men showed they could take a beating at times, while also being blasted out early at others. Cooney was a fast starter who could have taken out just about anyone if he got his way early in the fight. The longer it goes however, the more Donoven would have to be favored. Toss up for me.

I actually think Donovan is a pretty cool name.
