I'm starting a thread on this ...er...."world title fight"...cough cough .....purely out of a sense of charity really. The goodness of my heart and all that kinda stuff....
not even 9 0 clock and you have started a thread slating Quigg... only one other poster does these type of things Len....
Oh God no No No....please don't compare me to that cretin .....anything but that! Have I REALLY sunk that low? :thumbsup ( by the way...It's not Quigg himself personally I'm attacking)
Well if you look at the thread created on Frampton pre 9am on Sunday morning you may wanswer that one yourself... Oh dear Len
Actually Jamoye isn't such a bad fighter considering he's another replacement. I can see him giving Quigg some trouble, and certainly not fold inside 2 rounds like his other outside top 50 'challengers'.
It's double jeopardy for Scott. Win big and the guy was a bum. Struggle and Scott is a bum. These are no-win fights really. Scott's promotion is a disgrace.
Hearn has slipped with Scott but his promotion of other fighters is good. If Hearn did try to get LSC then that cant be his fault but what has let Hearn and Scott down is finding a suitable replacement. Its Hearns strategy of keeping Scott 'safe' for that Frampton fight that is actually hurting him. He did the same thing with Brook, fortunately Kell was ready when the time came for his title shot (finally)
It's going to be funny watching Hearn post fight trying to argue that Quigg holds the aces in negotiations with Frampton lol
But he does Hearn has Sky behind him McGuigan has no tv deal so unless he takes Frampton to the States Hearn does have the upper hand.
I hope he has explained that to Scott properly. Because Scott could easily become demoralised with the situation, he is only human. Keeping the fighter " safe" with unchallenging soft touch fights is a risky business. as you say it worked for Kell.....might backfire for Scott? scott will likely face a better champ than Kell did.
Sky hated going to Ireland, Frampton does awful TV numbers. They might entertain him now he has a belt, but they weren't bothered he left before. Be interesting to note the BoxNation numbers. Be surprised if more than 20k watched.
Scott may understand but is caught at the minute because no other promoter can drive as hard a bargain as Hearn can with the Frampton fight but he must see these 'safe' options in the meantime as wasting himself. Its very risky and its something im not a fan of.
I don't think Hearn gives a **** about keeping his fighters safe, whatever brings the cash tomorrow will be done. Of course Scott brings few fans and so where's the money to make big fights? They tried to get the LSC fight and weren't afraid to go to him. I honestly don't think they're protecting Scott at all. I'm a big fan of Jamoye, what a little warrior. If the few extra pounds do him good Scott may be embarrassed.
