the first fight was tough because of the saying styles make fights. Mayweather simply does not have the power at 147 to make Maidana think twice before coming in, it surprised me that Maidana kept coming forward all night even though even Broner made him think a little at times. That being said it all comes down to mayweathers age, people always act like every boxer in the world ages except Mayweather and are saying the first fight proved Mayweather is not all he is said to be. If he can keep moving for 12 rounds it will be an easy UD but if Maidana can push him to the ropes it will be another tough fight again

I don't think he should go in there strictly throwing right hands. He needs to mix it up with the overhand right. His overhand right landed when Mayweather got into his shoulder roll position. If only throws straight rights he's going to be hitting shoulder all night long

Maidana pulled out the performance of a lifetime and came up short, I had him losing 7-5.

He will never perform like that again.

He had 17 pounds, and could do nothing with that advantage!!

No you dont have to move alot. Measure him with your jab. Control your distance. Get your shots off. then move, side slip, pivot 90 degrees. now your opponent has to reset. Thats when you do it again. All nite.

Mayweather should win this fight easily just by moving and not standing with maidana. Hell khan is/was a basic fighter compared to floyd but all his movement really did a number on maidana. MM also has a tendency to shell up against a fighter with fast hands who throws more than 1,2 or 3. I don't think Floyd's ego will allow him to pot shot to victory and maybe at his age he can't sustain that style like he used to.

Mix in a straighter right with the looping right, dont abandon the looping right it works

use the uppercut, he buckled Broner with it, used it with success in round 3 vs Floyd, needs to use this more

basically do what worked in fight one and I think it should be interesting

watch for the over hand right left hook combo, he really uses the right to pull Floyds head into the left hook, only significant left hooks I remember from Maidana had this set up

You must be new to boxing :?

Garcia has already changed Maidana a lot !! At this stage, expect still to see some minor adjustments

Disagree here!! These tactics may very well work against other fighters but not with Maidana who rushes in and overwhelmes other fighters with his will and power.

Styles make fights. Maidana has a difficult style for the style of Floyd.
Floyd is not that comfortable on the inside, unlike a James Toney.

You are right there. He needs to mix it up. Mix in straight right hands and short right hooks which were missing the first time around

He had great success with the jab at times because he didn't threw it when Floyd was looking to time it (by pull back counter) but instead when Floyd was following him.
Hope to see more of that.
