Maidana and Matthysee actually fought when they were amateurs several times and Marcos seemed to have Matthysse's number. If they fought right now at 147, I'd probably have to favor Maidana.
ams is different then pros no headgear in the pros and we all know maidana can be hurt both to the chin and especially to the body and we know for sure matthysse has the power to do just that.I think its a toss up.
To be honest, there are plenty of non-title fights you could make that would be head and shoulders about title fights. Take the Floyd v Maidana 2 fight, a fight between Maidana and Mattyse would be infinitely more exciting than one against Floyd. Even a Maidana v Pac one would be great to watch. Now a Floyd v Thurman fight would be entertaining and competitive. Thurman has the power, speed and range to give Floyd a very tough night. It's all about matching the right boxers sometimes.
