Round 7 Ruenroeng is backing up and depositing rights on the body before tying Arroyo up. Arroyo is bashing down with his left hook after waking in blocking most of Ruenroeng's punches. Arroyo is marching Ruenroeng down patiently, not wasting energy in the clinch, letting Russell do his job. 10-9 Arroyo 67-65 Arroyo
Round 8 Ruenroeng is throwing lead rights on the body. Arroyo jabs and falls short. Ruenroeng is staying outside, swooping in low to land and then standing up with his long arms wrapped around Arroyo's back. Ruenroeng locks arms repeatedly with Arroyo, in deep past his elbows in Arroyo's underarms. 1-2 by Ruenroeng, clinch. Arroyo dives in with a superman right and a left hook, both a bit short as Ruenroeng fades away, then snaps in to hold. Flurries up top by Ruenroeng, blocked, tying up before Arroyo can retaliate. 10-9 Ruenroeng, ugly but effective comeback. 76-75 Arroyo
Round 9 Ruenroeng is throwing jabs and 1-2s at the body in reverse, and clapping down behind Arroyo's left ear with long sloppy almost open-gloved rights. Arroyo keeps pressuring and blocking, though not getting close enough to get much off. Wild hooks up top by Arroyo coming in, lifting and dragging his arm inward as Ruenroeng keeps distancing himself. 10-9 Ruenroeng 85-85
Ruenroeng seems to be employing a strategy of completely sapping Arroyo's wind by the championship frames, between the clinching, making Arroyo lunge for him, and the body attack.
Round 10 Ruenroeng is tying up whenever Arroyo throws a punch now, smothering him. Arroyo tries an overhand right and Ruenroeng gets his left bicep up to deflect before hugging Arroyo. Pat Russell is starting to force breaks more quickly now, pushing them apart. Ruenroeng is landing only body shots, usually one and done, mainly the straight right on the belt line. He is also dribbling out lots of flurries at the head of Arroyo but those are just window-dressing and virtually all blocked, serving their only real intended purpose of keeping Arroyo quiet. 10-9 Ruenroeng 95-94 Ruenroeng
The ref finally issued a warning after the Amnat took Arroyo down, he needs to start deducting points if the Thai continues with the excessive clinching.
Round 11 Jabs on the body and rights up to by Ruenroeng. Arroyo is just haplessly walking into everything now. Arroyo down - but not from a punch. Stiff-arm on the face while Ruenroeng was attempting to clinch. :-( Ruenroeng pays the consequences of his action no mind (it helps that Russell didn't even warn him) and keeps jumping in with his arms out in front to encircle Arroyo. Now finally a warning. Ruenroeng is scoring light pinpoint flurries on the body and faintly slapping up at the face as a pretense to lean on an exhausted Arroyo. 10-9 Ruenroeng 105-103 Ruenroeng
I don't know. This is a very cheap and not overly impressive performance by him (though he is getting the job done and got off the canvas to repel a surge by a game challenger...) but I'm still not sure he couldn't beat Reveco, who is decent but not an elite the caliber of JFE or Gonzalez. Ruenroeng and Reveco both lose to JFE and Gonzalez.
