Boxing will be better off without Floyd Mayweather.

It's popularity in the USA has declined ever since he came onto the scene.

Fans want to see fearless ring warriors like Gennady Golovkin, Manny Pacquaio and Roman Gonzalez, not chicken-hearted cherry picking defensive specialists like Floyd.

Who are you trying to convince of this nonsense.
Floyd makes boxing 100x bigger and more in the public's eye than anyone since tyson.

Exactly how would boxing be better when the highest paid athlete in the world leaves ?

Floyd's event are so huge it's crazy. No fighter brings a 10th of the hype and publicity Floyd brings to the world

How much was the six fight showtime deal for? ...the thing is, there's nobody for him to fight next. thurman is hurt, porter lost, khan looked like crap in his last fight...maybe floyd can take on martinez next? or kirkland?

he is extremely popular and puts on huge events, but he's still been awful for the sport overall. he's been one of the instigators behind this "protect your 0" mentality that everyone has now.

he also dodged and ducked the best when they were at their best like no other. floyd is great but he has robbed us all of the opportunity of finding out how great.

    good riddance.

    Really?

Hes going to finish on 49-0?

Would have thought someone with Floyds ego would want 50

he'll be broke by then and come back. that or haymon will ask him to come back to help his fledgling company.

i wouldn't put much stock into this. after his showtime contract ends....that 50th win against pacquiao is too much to resist.
