1 H.O.F. win in his entire career over a prime fighter which is even questionable. Tony Tucker is it...
LMAO! Is this even a question? Flash knockouts you're calling it now? More like dive bombs against low level opposition. Doesn't hold well when placing Lennie against other ATG greats of the game. At least we know Tyson can take a shot and hold his own and had to be beaten through the pavement to get him out of there. All it takes is one well placed shot to put Lennie to sleep.
Getting your ass kicked at 23 by a journeyman doesn't bode too well either now does it?? Lewis avenged both is defeats, Tyson avenged none of his 6 defeats. So basically you're saying that because Tyson could take a beating he was better than Lewis who's resume pisses all over Tyson's. All it takes is a decent chin, put Tyson on the backfoot or get off first and Tyson falls apart.
Larry himself did admit it, he was asked for this fight in. Very short period OF time, he said, i am not ready for tyson now i need more time, and qhen king told him the money he said yes
The same Lennie who fought like a South Yorkshire ***** against a corpse of a shadow of a shell. Wass up pud.
Azzer.. i'd been away for a week or so and have only just noticed this thread .I thought you said you weren't getting involved in any more Tyson threads ? If you want my opinion.....well you know i'm not his biggest fan.. but i know you think he IS an ATG and for what its worth so do i.. at his prime he looked close on unbeatable. His career after prison was all hype and little substance. The fact that he was a world class jerk adds to the spoiling of his 'legacy'. I / we have discussed this previously.
Some of the comments here are laughable, its like debating with 10 years olds, why bother? Should have to pass some sort of IQ test to post on here.
Re - Larry Holmes Tyson fight. It's a cast iron fact that he took the fight at short notice. A man of his stature shouldn't have done that but he did. Larry was so bent on fixing what he saw was his broken reputation due to the Spinks losses. Larry was and always has been driven by money and when Don Queen showed him the money he took it. In Larry's own mind he was arrogant enough to think nobody could knock him out.
