Alot of the stuff he comes out with is utter bull**** and/or made up

Theres videos on youtube of Mccall walking out of a sparring session because Tyson hit him with a very hard bodyshot

Wass1985 is so desperate to find a mythical fantasy match that Tyson could lose against a poor fighter.

Sam Peters hit harder than Tyson is just one of his many gems

    Mcall couldnt even BRUNO!

Then again, apart from that lucky/fluke punch against Lewis.....what did Mcall actually do in his career?

Mcall was tough as ****, but thats all he was, tough and ****.

Just because you take off weight and look good on the outside, does not mean you are properly prepared and actually sharp on the inside. Tyson took off the weight, but he did it improperly, and was just a hollow shell who had the outside appearance, but inside was a dead man on that night. There are plenty of athletes who can starve themselves and train for a brief period of time and look good, but won't be able to perform at an elite level. The writing was on the wall when he got decked by Page in sparring. They knew something wasn't right.

Oliver McCall won the WBC Heavyweight title.

He knocked out future WBA champ Bruce Seldon (when Seldon was undefeated), he knocked out Hall of Famer Lennox Lewis (when Lewis was the undefeated WBC champ), he knocked out Henry Akinwande (when Akinwande had one loss and was the top contender), he knocked out future WBC champ Oleg Maskaev in one round (when Oleg was undefeated), he outpointed Hall of Famer Larry Holmes in a title defense and gave Holmes the worst physical beating of Holmes' career, he knocked out Francesco Damiani (when Damiani was a top contender), when he was 45 years old he defeated contender Fres Oquendo, and he lost a close decision to Buster Douglas and a highly controversial decision to Tony Tucker.

And, apparently, he owned Mike Tyson in sparring over several years.

McCall had a very good pro career.

In response to the topic of the thread, I think Greg Page at his best (see Marty Monroe fight) would've given an excellent version of Tyson (see Berbick fight) a ton of problems. It would've been an exceptional fight. Add to that, both guys had the power to knock the other out.

I'd lean toward Tyson, but Page was so fast at his best. It's a toss-up.

Tyson was still fighting hard late into the fight with Douglas after with standing a lot of punishment their wasn't anything wrong with his conditioning. I bet he trained pretty hard for the fight but I also bet his head wasn't in his training. Tyson strikes me as the kinda guy who puts the work in anytime he is in the gym but there's a difference between going to the gym focused with you're mind on getting better and putting the work in, to going to the gym and going through the motions, which I believe is likely what Tyson was doing leading up to the Douglas fight. I think Tyson mind was on other things aside from his craft and it showed once he got in the ring.

Just to correct you yet again, McCall walked out of sparring because Tyson hit and hurt his back not his body, must try harder.

I'll refrain from getting heated because you and your sidekick go running to the mods but Page at his best would cause serious problems for Tyson.

If Tillis gave Tyson all he could handle then the superior Page would be a real threat.

How's the boxing career going?? Never heard of this until recently but now it's seems you were once a prospect who was beating fighters who defeated David Haye.

I'm more than happy to come spar with you anytime you like pal, be interesting to see if you've still got it.

Nice post but can you post links that prove Tyson took off weight improperly or is it just hearsay like most Tyson excuses??

Good to see you haven't got the blinkers on, Page had big power in that right hand and had the ability to beat Tyson if he used the right tactics.

I may be wrong here, but Im sure there was a video going round, and it did look like McCall stopped after getting hit with a body shot.

In work at the moment so I cant get on youtube.

Its true, Mcall walks off due to a body shot. Dont listen to Wass1985, hes a known liar.

According to him, Holyfield 'slipped' when Tyson hit him with that huge hayemaker in the first seconds of their first fight. It wasnt because Tyson had hurt him :-(

I never said i was a prospect, i said i got the better of someone in sparring who fought David Haye, whats so funny about that? :think

Secondly, Tillis was an experienced journeyman against a green kid who was just stepping up.

Put Tillis in with Tyson about a year later and Tillis gets his sh*t pushed in.
