I remember Ricky on Bunces boxing hour discussing it with Steve Bunce about why he turned down a unification fight with Broner at Lightweight as there were reports from Golden Boy that the Burns camp deliberately priced themselves out of the fight. Could you clarify please?
Another thing I appreciate you coming on here and discussing this Billy.

Ryan i spoke to ricky on it when he worked in DW not long after the mitchell fight when the vasquez fights were falling through and he mentioned Broners demands were ridiculous , they wanted Ricky to fight for miles less than broner and all options were in his favour too ,Basically all risk was at rickys door for no reward

    As SIMPLE as you perhaps?

Do you use your toes to type? I've never known you to write a sentence that is grammatically correct. Amazing.

Ryan promoters would say that, the money was never an issue it was twice what he's ever earned plus some, so that wasn't the issue, the short notice was the main issue.
All promoters come away with that one when the cards are stacked heavily in there favour, I can assure you all Ricky would gladly have fought Broner.

Are we actually pretending theirs interest in seeing a 37 year old recovering alcholic who's spent time behind bars fight a guy who's been at world class level for the past 4 years? Look i think like everyone Burns is past his best but to suggest Scott Harrison beats him is crazy. As for Harrison being the most successful Scottish boxer ever, please he's nowhere near the level of Ken Buchanan. Scott Harrison's best days are miles behind him it's embaressing people think he's going to come back and be relevant in boxing again.

I thought the fight was at SFW, all I know is what Ricky was offered and the short notice.

    That's fair enough Billy. I believe you...Thousands woudn't :tong
It was definitely at Lightweight though and Rees took that date with Broner instead.
If it was at the time when Ricky was the Super-featherweight champion and Broner was his mandatory surely both camps would have had more preparation time for that fight due to it being a mandatory contest?

Burns has a better chance vs Broner at 140 than he ever did at 130 and 135.

Not so sure about this stage of his career with how disappointing Ricky has been recently but back when he was fighting Mitchell and rumoured to be fighting Vazquez I always gave Ricky a chance against Broner as Adrien can't fight off the back foot and his footwork is poor, Ricky doesn't have the punch that Maidana has to get Adrien's respect but I think Ricky's speed and height/reach would have caused all sorts of bother.
