It's official. Mayweather will add another weight drained zombie to his resume

a weight drained, C-level, pillow-glove-wearing caveman zombie to be more specific

no need to give Floyd any credit for this victory

How could you tell he was clearly in better shape last fight ? It's impossible to tell what kind of fighting shape one is in by looking at him for 2 mins. Only way to know is if you trained him for both camps. Or you're just talking completely out of your ass.

You'll fit in perfectly on this site, 90% of posters talk out of their assess every single day

    Nah he looked fine.

He's only been at WW for 3 years and prior to that never really seemed too troubled making weight at 140. I'd have cast doubts in my mind if he came in looking ripped; it's not his style and would likely indicate he'd not trained for endurance.

I just hope to god that he and Garcia aren't coming into this fight with an overly complicated gameplan. His recklessness was what found him success in the last fight and I think all we need is more of the same tonight for it to an entertaining and perhaps even closer fight.

When does MM ever look great at a weigh in?

Its his genetics to not look that muscular, and not have a great amount of definition

He will be fine come fight night

So Maidana is now weight drained even though he never fought above 147? For ****'s sake he came in a lb under.

I thought he looked good. I cannot for the life of me see how anyone can say he looked horrible.

Like mrTibbs said Maidana has never been defined or ripped like Mayweather.

  13. I actually think that coming in the 150-155 range will be good for him. That is the weight range Chino has had on fight night for several years now. The 165 he weighed for the 1st Mayweather fight was an aberration for him. He rehydrated 13% overnight, which is a a ton. I know that the belief a lot of fighters and fans have is that the heavier fighter will have the edge in strength, however that is not always the case (I’d be willing to bet that hardly ever in fact). Dehydrating and then rehyrating can seriously **** up a fighter’s strength, since they actually need to activate their muscles to generate force, and the metabolic pathways to do so are hampered by that dehydration to rehydration cycle. There are some studies that have shown how detrimental this can be based on actual measurements conducted before and after this cycle and even when the athlete feels he is doing better after rehydrating, he is actually doing worse based on actual measurements. Just gaining weight by eating and drinking water overnight doesn’t actually restore hydration to its proper level in such a short time, so in essence fighters are not at their 100% from a physical point of view.

In addition to this, what I think is the best evidence of how useless or counterproductive it is to rehydrate too much are the actual fight results. I’ve looked at close to a 100 fights comparing weigh-in weight to fight night weight, and the lighter fighter wins an absurd amount of times, especially as the weight gap grows.

In fights with at least 1 lb of difference on fight night between the two fighters, the lighter fighter won 59% of the time.
If the weight gap increases to at least 3lbs, the lighter fighter wins 70% of the time.
At 5lbs or higher, the lighter fighter wins 73% of the time.
At 7lbs or higher, 80% of the time.
At 10lbs or higher, 82% of the time.

As you see, the more a fighter rehydrates in comparison to his opponent, the more likely it is that fighter is going to lose. So at least from a statistical point of view Maidana should do better this time around.

can anyone who thinks maidana is looking **** PLEASE provide me with a weigh in pic of him looking good.. because i SWEAR TO YOU this is the same ****ing maidana... i know guys who box at a professional level who have that body type like maidana. always the same style aswell

a guy who will walk you down no matter what you are throwing at him, possibly the most toxic style to come accross unless you are an experienced fighter, that style separates the men from the boys in my opinion
