It's not just americans buying the Floyd fights.....Floyd has created a "following" that consists of a lot of different backgrounds from all over the world. Some love him.......most don't. But they buy his fights.

Floyd's last fight wasn't a snoozefest so there's a link between the price increase and how the fight played out last time.....there's also a link between the less than stellar PPV numbers for the first fight and a loss of projected revenue for the contract they have with Floyd which guarantees him $32 million at the very least. Your opinion about US boxing fans is exactly that.....an opinion.

I could say the very same thing about UK boxing fans and I'd have about as much foundation and validity to my argument that you do yours.....So I'll just leave it at there are only a small percentage of "Boxing fans" from all corners of the globe that actually have a deep understanding and knowledge of the sweet science.

To attempt to claim this kind of association is specifically tied to a single nation says more about the one making the claim than the entire nation he's attempting to insult.

even if they only get 800,000 buys, that's over $62 million. floyd takes half that, but the other fighters won't be on much. but then money from sponsors etc, i fail to see how showtime can lose money?

Nah.....Floyd won't see any of the PPV money unless SHO makes their money off the top. 800k PPV buys isn't not considered a successful Floyd Mayweather event.....

the reason Floyd has such a high guarantee ($32 million) is becuase the SHO executives signed Floyd on under the assumption he'd continue pulling in at the very least 1 million PPV buys for each of the fights he's under contract for. Needless to say Floyd hasn't delivered the numbers SHO expected outside of the Nelo fight.

Floyd only got PPV money from his fight with Alvarez because that was a huge success with over 2 million PPV buys. Floyd, regardless of what his PPV numbers are (good or bad) is going to get his guarantee which is an incredible deal. But if you think he's getting half of the PPV revenue when it doesn't even break 900K you are delusional..
