Assuming he gets past Algeri which, honestly, isn't a given. The fact is, both Pac and Mayweather are sick of boxing. They have made more money than they probably ever dreamed possible acheived things they never even imagined. I could tell in the Rios fight that Pacquaio had mentally checked out. Last night, you could say the same thing about Mayweather. The problem is, Pacquaio has more left in the tank and his speed and combination punching is going to put Mayweather in a world of hurt. Pacquaio is one of those guys that isn't as good as he once was, but he's good once as he always was. That's the type of beating he's going to dispense on Mayweather. The biggest obstacle is Algeri who is an excellent opponent for Pacquaio to fight. Mayweather has devolved into a more herky jerky type of style that Algeri seems to epitomize. Algeri also has a probably similiar punching power to Mayweather, but doesn't sit on his punches as much as Mayweather, and is also more active. Pacquaio defenitely can't sleep on this guy. But hopefully he gets past Algeri, and gives Mayweather that ass beating he deserves for talking all that ****. You talk all that ****, you get your ass beat. Pacquaio is a true gangster. He's not some fake ass dude. I rememeber when some guy was writing his biography and he got disgusted because he was under the impression that Pacquiao was this nice guy, but he found out Pacquaio was a straight gangster in real life. He rolls around with MP5s. When Pacquaio comes around, people are scared. They are like, "****, here comes Pacquaio." Anyway... It is what it is.
No offense but I stopped reading there. Pacquiao has far less in the tank than Mayweather. Pacquiao is legitimately past it. His physical abilities and his mental desire. Mayweather is only just losing his mental desire.
I can agree with this. I guess I'm refering to he has enough for his style to beat Mayweather. He still has enough speed, footwork, and viciousness to be at least reminicent of he used to be once. But only for Mayweather. When Pacquaio fights Mayweather, it's going to be like releasing a pitbull on a chicken. Or Maybe a mongoose on a snake...but a snake that doesn't have much bite.
*******s running algieria through the hype machine. squeaked past provodnikov and got dropped twice but by fight night *******s will be calling him a master boxer!!!
Pacquaio certainly relies more on his athletic gifts rather than fundamentals. That's a huge edge Floyd has on him in the longevity department. Say what you will about combination punching and speed, but without a jab, Pacquiao would have a steep hill to climb.
LOL. Why do you think I would do that? I'm being honest. I don't care about their legacies in the sense that I'm worried about who is considered the better fighter in this generation. That's for you to argue. I just want to see Pacquaio beat that ass. If he loses to Algeri, we probably won't get to see that. I'm just calling it like I see it. At the end of the day, you can say Mayweather is the greatest of this generation, but he's still going to get that ASS BEAT by Pacquaio, assuming Pac gets past Algeri. Don't sleep on Algeri. Be honest with yourself as a Pac hater.
Pacquaio has a jab. But his left to the body and his use of angles, distance, and accuracy. Mayweather will feel like he's going through a blender. Pacquaio doesn't throw like a caveman. He has SHORT punches. VERY SHORT punches. And from that southpaw stance, oh man. I can't wait. Mayweather is going to take one hell of a beating. And if he wants to do that step foward right hand, Pacquaio's short ass is going to MURDER him with a left uppercut. It might even drop Mayweather. Mayweather is going to have a real problem trying to clinch Pacquaio to stall the action because Pac's hands and feet are so fast, plus his angle as a southpaw gives him more distance which allows more time to throw that left when Mayweather steps in. I'm telling you, that left uppercut is going to be a killer. PLEASE MAKE THIS FIGHT. PLEASE LET PACQUIAO GET PAST ALGERI.
If I'm Pacquaio and I watched the fight last night, I have a grin from ear to ear. Call me TMT Pacquaio. ****.... How embarrassing would that be for Mayweather to get his ass whipped by the NEW FACE OF TMT...MANNY PACQUAIO. LOL!!!
I hope Vegas gets it right, but honestly, I'm a little worried. That's just me. You can call it bias or whatever you want, but I don't think Pacquaio wants to fight anymore, and Algeri has kind of a tough style. It's tough to fight tall guys with footwork that can box, when you're a short southpaw, especially one that isn't what he used to be. A prime Pacquaio... Of course. But anything can happen these days.
I think that fight would galvanize both fighters to give off the best performance they can possibly give. Both men know the ramifications and importance of this superfight. It would put the 2 best fighters of this era,2 true ATG's in the ring where they're still both universally considered top 5 P4P fighters. They're not washed up in the least bit IMO. I don't agree with the OP, I think Manny would have a great shot if he could swarm Floyd for the entire 3 minutes of every round in the same manner Maidana did in his first fight with FLoyd. But when has Manny fought like that in recent times? He's much more reluctant at letting his hands go, he doesn't mind staying outside the pocket and just outboxing his opposition from a distance. Manny fights 1 to 1 1/2 minutes per round in every fight he's had in recent memory. If he expects to fight FLoyd every minute or so, which is more than likely what'll happen, than he'll get outboxed pretty handily. Maidana's style will make anybody look bad in the ring. YOu have to be so cautious about his swarming style while you're in there because he's capable of KO'ing someone with 1 shot. I think his major advantage in a fight with FLoyd would be his handspeed, unfortunately there's not really anything else he's clearly superior than FLoyd to. Manny does a lot of things wrong technically. FLoyd's the more accurate puncher, exponentially better counterpuncher, the best defensive fighter Manny will have ever seen and he'd be coming into the ring as the naturally larger man with around a 5 inch reach advantage. This isn't Manny of 2008. He isn't knocking guys out anymore nor is he fighting 2 to 2 1/12 minutes per round in every fight. He's become a lot more judicious with lunging in and attacking his opposition and I think part of that stems from his surprising KO loss to JMM where I thought Pacman was only about a half minute away from knocking Marquez out. He looks like a more hesitant fighter with less power for about 5 years now.
Well if you think that Algieri will trouble Pacquiao more than Floyd will I recommend that you just stop watching boxing
