Floyd Almost Caught The Pac-JMM 4 Treatment

If that was a legit WW like Kell Brook or Keith Thurman landing that counter right hand it would have been curtains for Floyd

 

That was a great right by Maidana after Floyd tried to pull counter over his jab. It looks like it caused Floyd to roll his ankle a little but he wasn't even close to being hurt let alone knocked out like that ***** poochiauo

 

Floyd can take a punch, there's no doubting that.

 

Floyds legs went. Who knows what would have happened had that shot landed mid round.

I question your boxing knowledge, the guy landed 21% of his total shots against Mayweather. Obviously when you have the swarming and unpredictable style that Maidana has, some shots are going to be able to land. It's called boxing, and odds are if you throw enough punches, even against a defensive master, eventually some shots will get through the guard.

All I saw was a dominant 10-2 type of performance for FLoyd. He got caught with a few shots, as he gets caught with a few shots in almost every fight he's in. Hatton nailed him with some shots, as did DLH, Judah, Cotto, MOsley, etc. It happens. What's funny is people make can only cite one or 2 instances in a fight where FLoyd gets caught flushed. I think that speaks volumes as to how great a defensive fighter he is.

People clamor about MOsley's punch in the 2nd round for 5 years now. What other significant punch did he land against Mayweather in their fight? Guys gets a few flush shots in on Mayweather and all of a sudden he's a shot fighter. So silly.

Well he did pretty good for a shot fighter last night, he landed over 50% of his punches whereas Maidana barely broke the 20% mark.

I think people's expectation for a soon to be 38 year old fighter are way too high. Remember what fighters like Lewis, Tyson, RJJ, Ray Robinson, Ray leonard looked like at 37?

Good performance by FLoyd, I'd say it was a B/B- performance. His legs looked very good, he kept the fight in the center of the ring for the most part, his footwork was excellent. Aside from not knocking out Maidana (something FLoyd doesn't do to anyone really at WW or JMW,) and I just don't see how people can be so critical of his performance last night. It was a whitewash.

 

Man, the Floyd hate is strong on here today..

He took a great shot, and recovered.. and dominated the fight.

He's getting old, he's not the same guy he was years ago.

He just beat a young hungry hard puncher for the 2nd time in a row. Get over yourselves.

 

I honestly have no idea what these people are watching that are being so critical of FLoyd. maidana is a tough out for anyone, especially since he decided to start getting trained by Garcia. He's tweaked Maidana's style a bit, taught him how to throw hard jabs and even learned how to counterpunch a little bit.

He's a big WW who is VERY strong and loves to swarm his opponents for the entire 3 minutes of every round. If you're not alert at all times in the ring against Marcos, he'll end up knocking you down/out (look at Broner for a perfect example.)

There's very few fighters in the game today that fight in the style Maidana does. Most guys won't bumrush FLoyd from the 1st second on in a fight. Other top tier fighters would be a lot more judicious with their punch output.

I think FLoyd would still beat all the top WW's in the world, most of them with veritable ease. His style will look dominant against guys who only fight for a minute or 2 every round, which is most WW's in general.

It didn't do anything. He was way more hurt against mosely and you saw how that worked. You pbf haters are so desperate that you are looking for anything as a moral victory because he's never lost in the ring. Floyd is a bonafied iron chinned warrior. That shot was massive. It definitely would have put many others down or out.

Maidana punches harder than PAC and so did mosely. Wishful thinking at best.
