You know Bernard is gonna fight Kovalev just like Mayweather, but will get praise

Ok. So because he beats boxers like Maidana and does it by only losing a few rounds do you think its easy.

I would struggle to call Cleverly a B level fighter. Campillo was a B level fighter in his prime, but was far from his prime when fighting Kovalev.

I wouldn't that far. I have respect for Floyd's accomplishments if everyone is happy placing him in the top 30 of all time, but if he and his fans are pushing for a top 10 placement then no he hasn't done enough to earn that placement.

Yeah, but Mayweather is insincere. When Bernard hugs a man, you know that it's cause Bernard loves him.

I don't think them being Floyd's opponents has anything to do with it. It's perceived risk.

Against the guys you've mentioned there is no perceived risk whatsoever, either of getting hurt or losing the fight.

When Ali fought Foreman there was huge perceived risk factor that made the fight exciting. When SRL/Duran stepped into the ring with Hagler it was the same thing. Jones fighting Ruiz, Pac fighting the much bigger and hard punching Cotto. etc.

With Floyd I can't think of a fight in recent memory in which I already knew the outcome of the fight before it even took place. Maybe he's just that good I'm not sure, but I am sure he could be taking more chances than what he's taking. Hell I don't even think the Pac fight would be much of a problem for him, but GGG at 154 well that would be interesting.

And as for Duran blown up to 200lbs and Floyd only gaining 4-5lbs you do realize that this is a liability, albeit of his own making, that Duran had to overcome.

He could beat pac silly for 12 rounds and it still wouldnt put him top 10.

These two fighters are around because they are smart ,name a puncher that has a 15+ career that keeps winning.

I agree. So when someone says what does he have to do to impress me my answer is that it depends on what you think the ramifications are. To get into the Top 10 he'd have to beat Pac pretty convincing and beat GGG, then it would be worth discussing.

Which is the problem, he is that good. There probably arent any fighters at or around his weight that would win more than 2-3 rounds if floyd fights his fight. That doesnt mean when he beats them them that they should be considered mediocre fighters. Floyd has dismantled some guys who were considered top 3 in the division and some even ranked p4p top 10 at the time and shut them out and people routinely discredit him. But when these guys fight other people they are considered good opponents.

Complain when floyd fights a smaller guy (but want him to fight pac, ironic) but give hopkins credit for beating DLH and Tito at MW and also dragging Pavlik and Wright to LHW.

He still wouldnt be top 10. GGG hasnt done anyhing to warrant that. Beating cotto again at 160 would mean more because of cotto's accomplishments.

Maidana is more technical than you guys give him credit for.

You might have a point, but beating a fighter you already beat doesn't impress me as much as beating an up and comer with a dangerous punch, and I think people would sooner watch Floyd fight someone he hasn't fought before.

I personally don't give middleweights much credit for dragging up a welterweight and then beating them. The fact that Hopkins beat DL or Tito doesn't impress me nearly as much as him getting in the ring with Kovalev especially at his age.
