Yeah and in that "one fight" Douglas beat the living day lights out of Tyson, in a rematch he would have stopped him quicker or Tyson would have found a way out a la Holyfield!

I would have to either go with Foreman who I believe his use of power and reach would be too much, or Montreal Duran.

Foreman might well be the best choice, but there are certain risks with the pick.

He is open to getting countered, and Tyson’s firepower is about as serious as you can get.

Also if it somehow goes to the later rounds, you are going to be in trouble.

This makes me think that the more methodical Liston might be a safer choice.

As for Lewis, do you really want to bet your life on his chin?

Foreman of course. Has the height, weight, reach and power to make short work of Tyson.

Foreman probably, Liston and Lewis are strong candidates also.

Lennox wasn't 'chinny'.. He got floored by 2 haymakers outta the blue in fights he took lightly.
But he spent a long time mixing it with some heavy hitters and never looked chinny to me .Frank Bruno and Gary Mason were 2 pretty big sluggers plus guys like Mercer and Morrison and none had him looking chinny.
If Lewis could promise to go in with intent he would be my choice.
I like 'Magoo' and 'Fists' reasonings behind choosing Holyfield .
They would be my 1 and 2.
I wouldn't choose him for the job,but a prime Frazier crossed my mind .?

    1996- version of Lennox Lewis...

    He would kick Mikes ass...

Come to think of it my runner up would be 1991 Evander Holyfield, despite being 4 years older, and having a lot more ring wear and a bad heart Holy whipped his over-rated ass 2x.

I think the general consensus here is that Foreman is the favourite.

Nobody else who is being seriously considered here, got floored by 2 haymakers outta the blue in fights they took lightly.

Neither did any other dominant heavyweight champion.

I will go with the crowd:

Big George and Sonny Boy are the logical options to handle Tyson: against a pretentious bully like Tyson you bring somebody like Foreman or Liston who are the real deal, won't be intimidated, and have the capacity to hurt Tyson from the very first round with heavy bombs.

Now on second thought, if I really, really feel kind of suicidal and wanna put my life in the line in style I would pick Ernie Shavers ... it would be interesting to see what happens IF Ernie can land a bomb on Tyson
