People say age, buts thats Bullsh*t, IMO. He is a young 37/8. Doesn't drink, smoke, take drugs or anything that would age the body and mind.

The man, and let's be honest here, has had it VERY easy since the Oscar fight.
Maindana I might have been his hardest fight in a long time, but he had it easy with JMM, Ortiz, Moseley (to a degree), Canelo.. There is no slugfest or out-an-out war that he's been involved in.

His style lends it's self to longevity more than any other style in existence. Period.

He isn't doing a 'Hatton' and ballooning up in weight between fights.

Wanting to go 'toe to toe' is BS. It goes against what every defensive master stands for.

So what's the sketch? How come Floyd seems to be declining? I think he needs Roger back asap!

Hopkins is nigh-on 50, still going, and relies on the same style (more or less) as Floyd AND is more active.

Both guys are freak athletes, too.

Oh my god I'm tired of hearing this.. How many fighters are doing what Hopkins is doing now? Nobody.. What he's doing at his age is not the new standard, it's a great accomplishment.. That's like saying since Pac went up 8 divisions, everyone can go up 8 divisions.. Michael Jordan played until he was +40 so everyone should be able to do it.. That sounds stupid...

Age it always gets u in the end. I think floys needs to be careful who he picks for his last two fights.

    Age.

Some boxers can go on 'till deep in their 40's and others, mostly the ones that heavily rely on athletisim or were in a lot of wars, look completely spent in their mid to late 30's.

If you saw Ali ringside calling out Holmes at 38 he looked more like some 50+ old geezer, and ended up Holmes' puchbag. And RJJ became a puchbag for the stars as soon as his athletisism and reflexes declined.

Floyd is a weird case though.
He was very inactive the last couple of years before the showtime deal and mostly relies on a couple of features -distance management, timing, broad shoulders, huge reach- that don't decline at a big pace or not at all.

    I don't think he's declined at all.

Is age man. No one stops father time. You look at PBF to Money Floyd and you see PBF moves much faster and much more aggressive.

I think it's age. He's adapting to it well. Everyone's body is different.

Nothing, no decline. People seem to forget him destroying Canelo two fights ago.

Prior to both Maidana fights he has been hit by stress and legal issues. Those are major pressures that, if anything, would factor on someone being less than one hundred percent focused.

Since 2005 Hopkins is mediocre. 9-4-1 with one No Contest.
