If Maidana had caught Mayweather 10 seconds earlier with that sweeping right counter at the bell (I forget which round) do you think he could have at least dropped him? Floyd looked like he was stunned for at least a couple of seconds.

After the 2 Maidana fights it's even more obvious that it will take somebody of the Maidana mould with better ring generalship and footwork to have a chance to beat Mayweather. A lefty would help also. And we all know who the most obvious candidate would be.

Floyd will be well aware of the backlash from this "boring" PPV and will either have to pull a big surprise with his next opponent like he did after the Guerrero fight, or more likely he'll choose to not fight in May hoping it will build buzz for his "return" against another heavy underdog in a year.

it definitely hurt him and its why he came out a lil more defensive and less active the beginning of the next round but later in that round took control...i believe it was end of round two he got buzzed.

Maidana couldn't even knock Khan down off after nailing him with worse, Floyd has a better chin and defense so I very much doubt it.

No iron chinned warrior he wasn't hurt at all by Maidana.

It would have been interesting to see how Maidana would have tried to go in for the kill on a hurt Mayweather and if he could have even forced the knockdown against the ropes.

Realistically Floyd would have hung on for dear life a la Mosley round 2.

The point is that Mayweather was evidently hurt by the punch and did a little 1 second dance if you watch the video back. Who's to say if he jumped on him he wouldn't have forced a knee at least.

I don't think he would of. Floyd was slightly wobbled, and was hurt from the punch, but if you look at his eyes when he sat down he had his wits about him.

Plus if Floyd is ever hurt he can spoil with the best of them. He would have held on for dear life if need be.

Was a nice punch though. And i think thats what Kept Floyd so cautious for the rest of the fight. He feared MMs power.

And i think the fact that Floyd has never been dropped (I await the "But Zab dropped him" comments) is a good reason to say he probably wouldn't of taken a knee in this situation.

He has been hurt worse, with more time on the clock and he has been fine.

That shot\s that Shane hit him with were huge compared to this one IMO.

Maidana is garbage. Even if he hurt him really badly he wound't have gotten him out of there. This is why Mayweather fought him in the first place.

True. It's hard to judge how exactly it affected him with the bell going though. He didn't even raise a hand to protect himself after he was clearly buzzed. It's likely that's because the bell went and he knew the round was over. But there's always a chance of being hit after the bell especially when you've just been chin checked so he could have been half asleep for a second or two

    Cut it out .

He was clearly hurt when that punch landed , he was hopping on one leg and quickly held on to the rope to maintain his balance .

He was out on his feet .

He got caught but he wasn't that hurt. Mosley shot hurt him way more. Maidana is a bum get over it.
