The obscure channel was prepared to back Frampton. Barry and the obscure channel delivered.

Sky were not prepared to back The Jackal.

Why go to the obscure channel? Well no other TV network supports boxing in the same as the obscure channel. There was nowhere else to go.

    Frampton vs Martinez II..

Broadcast live around the world in 90 countries in front of 16,000 sell out crowd even broadcast live on BBC 5Live Radio.

Frampton is a legitimate World Title holder and defeated a legitimate World Champion to attain his title.

His profile his growing by the fight and his fanbase is growing and growing.

What on earth has Scott Quigg done to deserve 50% of the purse taking into consideration he's got next to no fanbase?

Not sure where this 'no fan base' comes from, many people don't seem to understand that the Gallagher gym seem to lend support to one another i.e if one of the Smith's sells tickets - they all support Quigg or Crolla or Cardle or who ever happens to be fighting that night.Coupled with the fact AJ will no doubt be on an undercard, so it's fair to say, tickets would sell etc.

It is plain to see that Matchroom have a fighter in Quigg were he is like Rigondeaux as in not a great following minus the talent of Rigondeaux. IF Hearn was still promoting Frampton the fight wouldnt get made as Quigg doesnt bring a lot to the table and they be going after Santa Cruz instead. I know people from Scotts home town in Bury who have all said to me he has no major support from Bury no marketing in Bury to let people know that there so called world champion is fighting in Manchester. He brings a paper title to the table and thats all. Carl has the real title the following and is the more marketable fighter of the lot.
The tv deal is bull****. To say Quigg deserves more because he is a sky fighter is a joke his numbers aint great. His last fight showed he couldnt sell out. The fight before in Manchester was saved for the Crolla v Murray fight more so than Quigg fighting a bum. Also who is to say that Sky boxing dont do what they done with Groves and give Frampton and McGugian a 3 fight deal or more. They get a World Champion in the deal and go from there. I honestly think Carl will have many many offers for tv from UK , Europe and US and could well fight anywhere. If he bases himself in the US he will get better and better and bigger pay days than McGugian or Hearn can offer him. These coming weeks will more than likely see Carl secure himself a big tv deal somewhere in my opinion.

Anyone know what kiko got for going to Dublin? Seems like they pretty much bought that world championship

Both men train. Both men have skill. Both men could win (although Frampton seems to be favourite). Both men will be willing to put it on the line. Both men should profit handsomely.

One man can bring crowds. The other man has a contract with a big TV station. I have no idea which one of those factors brings the biggest amount of dosh to the table, so I have no opinion about which man should get the bigger share.

And you know what? I don't care. Make the fight, that's all I ask.

I know what you mean but you're mixing people showing up to watch fights/fighters with the singular pulling power of an individual, Scott Quigg as an individual doesn't have much of a fanbase, so in negotiating terms that's a card he can't play whereas Frampton in comparison sells out arenas.

That said, how much the fighters get paid is a side story, just get the fight made and we the fans can hopefully see a good fight.

Who knows, a rematch or maybe a trilogy could be made too if the fights go a certain way.

Old Greg .. I tend to disagree - as Hearn would look to market this as a matchroom show - meaning for a full event other than Frampton, Mcguigan has no one else on the show really, so you'd expect to see the usual faces on the card if up north then Gallagher clan , down South then Mitchell , AJ , Yafai etc

Frampton gets 40%, quigg gets 30% as frampton has a proper belt and the remaining 30% goes to the winner

There were loads of empty seats at the weekend, granted it was a **** card but i doubt it sold more than 7k tickets

The fight was in Belfast, not Dublin and his purse was reportedly in the region of £500,000. Huge money for a Super-Bantamweight to get anywhere, but particularly this side of the Atlantic.

Worth noting it was in the North West & Liverpool were playing champs league football & Paul Smith is fighting in Gemany in a few weeks - so a lot will be skint. I know that sounds as though it's scraping the barrel but it actually makes a difference.

You all do realise a fully odyssey arena is the same as a half full Manchester arena.
I personally think Frampton is the bigger draw, more money to be made in a packed manc arena, go 50/50 boys, biggest payday of your lives.

Few hundred have bought tickets for paul smith, liverpool are at home but city are away in Munich tonight so that won't have a massive effect as something like 3k max will be going there - just thought it was a **** card, Joshua the only one that I had any interest in seeing tbh and it's not worth spending £40 on a ticket to watch a fight you know will be done in a few rounds. Even the much maligned merseybeat show still had a few names (Mitchell, brook) who don't come round to the north west that often which made it worthwhile
