Not a chance they'll have a fight outdoors in Belfast in February.

Why shouldn't he? He's a pro ****in fighter.

Does Lee look or sound punch drunk to you?

What's the difference between Andy Lee and any other person that gets punched in the head for a living?

Would you rather see boxing banned?

The difference is that due to his amateur legacy, high profile association with Manny Steward etc etc Andy has a fairly big ;Name'.....
THat high profile results in him being associated with GGG, Cotto, Quillin, etc over the last while.
In reality Andy is well below this level and plateaued down there a long time ago.
He is too easy to hit with hard flush damaging shots for my liking.
So he could end up getting hurt, yes. And yes that does concern me. Answer your question?

Not really. Do you think he's showing signs of being punchy?...

    he's a professional boxer...

He takes the same risks as the names you just mentioned, can punch himself and can take a good dig too.

Why are you singling Lee out? What's so different about other fighters taking shots?

What's your problem? Are you banging him or something? Why are you so concerned with Andy Lee over any other boxer?

You sound like a complete drama queen when it comes to Andy Lee's career. He's taken no more beatings than say the likes of Macklin, and no one's calling for the end of Mack's career.

Its just that I think Andy is different than Macklin or Duddy. He seems to take shots more 'flush' in a worrying fashion. Macklin (and Duddy before him ) takes a lot of 'scuffing' shots that do mark him up alright, but look close and he does ride them to some degree. Duddy and Macklin get marked up yes, but I dont think they get hit with the same degree of sickening flush shots.
Also remenber Macklin is a lot better than Andy, and Duddy a lot tougher. Also remember that Duddy had the good sense to retire.

    :bbb

OK We've heard from the "Andy is fine" side.
Anyone on here feel they would be happier if he called it a day?
    Anyone at all?

Macklin has taken more punishment than Lee throughout his career, Lee is a tough SOB

Macklin cannot take a good body shot and gets the pizza face look quite a bit.

Duddy went 12 RDS with Chavez who had just started with Roach and was still a joke who had fought no one of note until Duddy, if Lee had of fought him then it would totally different from fighting
A light heavyweight supposedly on ped's , Duddy would have been destroyed if he was in Lee's
Shoes that day along with Macklin. I like and respect the 3 of them and have all taken their fair share
Of punishment, but Duddy took more of a hammering than Lee has and was right to hang em up.
Lee is no fool, he'll know when's he's ready so leave his retirement plans to him and his family
    And respect his choices .

You right about Duddy faced a different Chavez to Lee in fairness.
    :good
But how do you reckon Macklin cannot take a body shot?
Any evidence to back this up? (Forget the GGG ko - no one who ever lived could have taken that shot).

I watched Philip Sutcliffe vs Ross Hickey from the 2011 seniors recently. What a performance, had Sutcliffe down and hurt on multiple occasions and outboxed him with ease. Hickey was/is some operator on his day, though he could never seem to put it together at the highest international level. Haven't heard much of him the last few while either.

Was ringside for this incredible fight. I think Hickey may have won Boxer of the Tournament that year, I may be wrong. Showed Sutcliffe could be outboxed at close quarters. The frenetic pace suited Hickey a bit more, maybe got the sense if it was over six or eight, this would be a totally different fight. Take nothing from Hickey, though, he had the sneaky right hook around the ear that seemed to constantly catch opponents hard and I think he buzzed Sutcliffe a few times with it too. Not sure why he never did an awful lot on the international scene, he's had misfortune with hand and head injuries in the last 2-3 years, although he did win European bronze in 2008, the year most of the top Olympians stayed away.
