Not trolling... It's an honest question. As an objective boxing fan, I like hearing how other people come to conclusions I disagree with. It's all about gauging your own knowledge, so if there is a legit argument that can be made explaining how Pac could be Canelo, I'm all for it. Canelo is a skillful boxer with speed and power. He's not the most defensive, but he is a significantly bigger fighter than Pac. Sure Pac has that supreme athleticism, but you only ever see him use it to skillfully outbox pure inside fighters like Brandon Rios. Canelo is obviously far more skilled and controlled boxer than Rios, there's no argument. Canelo is also not afraid to throw while his opponent is throwing, and I have no reason to believe Pac can seriously hurt Canelo, especially while Canelo is throwing back. Speaking of which, if Pac elected to just go all out and attack Canelo, I'm pretty damn confident Canelo would fold Pac in half with his power... Anyway, that's my assessment, what do you guys think?
Footwork and by boxing instead of brawling. Canelo often has to set himself to throw and Pac's boxing skills are under-rated in that he has never been outboxed (except from JMM). In and out attacks, varying angles. Bradley is probably p4p better than Canelo and Pac outboxed him twice but Canelos size and power could be worrying. I think Pac could possibly do it but it'd be a big challenge, esp as Canelo seems to be outgrowing even light middleweight
This. But also should mention that Pac's speed is superior, and Canelo moves like he has lead in his shoes. I would love to see this fight at 154. But I can't see Freddie letting it happen.
prime pac 09-10 would have beaten him on speed and flurrys canelo would have had no answer now canelo puts pac in a cocoon of horror and sends him back to the philippines in a casket
Agreed. Minus the agenda. Now days, i think Pacquiao still runs rings around Canelo. His speed is still far too superior, his footwork is too good and Canelo is too much of a plodder to deal with the continuous change of angles. However, Canelo still has the power to KO any welter. That is better seen with an accumulation of shots or bodyshots though. I dont see him getting that chance with Pacquiao.
fight him at 152 Canelo has trouble making 154...he could barely make 152 for Floyd. Footwork is what destroys Canelo and makes him look bad.
So everyone picking Pac, mentioning that he would stick and move on Canelo... How would you rate Canelo's ability to cut off the ring? And what are you basing Pac's untouchable footspeed and angles off of?
pac isn't that great of a boxer.... yes he outboxed bradley, but bradley is more of a swarmer than he is a pure boxer.
