Billy Joe Saunders vs Chris Eubank Jr - November 29th - Who Wins?

I feel that the jnr camp are pinning their defence on too shaky unproven ground.
Im a big jnr fan myself and fully expect him to go all the way but i just dont think hes ready for bjs. Whats the evidence, hes had some great shows against weak opposition and hes had some good spars against quality fighters, is that really enough at this point to go in against a good proven euro level fighter whos got a lot more experience under his belt at the longer rds. Spars are a different ball game to a live fight we dont know how hell deal with that.
If bjs fights to plan and showz us ringcraft he beats jnr. Too much too soon imo

hoping eubank takes it, bjs is a good solid fighter but he's nothing exceptional..let see if eubank proves that he is something special by taking bjs out.

For many it dropped out in the latter stages of the fight. Boxnation puts out a weak signal compared to some of the more popular channels. Folk in many areas were affected, some weren't.

in his last fight that i watched, eubank did this weird, slo-mo turn which reminded me of 80s robotics dancing, leaving him exposed without any option to counter. a decent boxer will exploit that.

 

He has a lot of flaws. For me the most serious one is simply that he doesn't work hard enough. He works in 10-15 second bursts, which is not going to be enough to win a 3 minute round with a good opponent IMO.

For far too much time he is inactive..relying on posing posturing and bluffing to keep the opponent off him. He will get caught out doing it IMO. It's only a matter of time.....

 

15 second bursts ain't ideal, but beat turning away from your opponent trying to look the part. only clocked it in 1 fight, though, hopefully we won't see it again.

I have seen that too. He even kinda walked backward with his arse sticking out...seriously...into one recent opponent. Ridiculous and won't win him any friends with refs for a start.

But he can simply STOP silly things line that.
My issue is how will he overcome the more ingrained style of boxing he has, whereby he is inactive for 2 minutes or more, of a 3 minute round. How is he going it WIN ROUNDS like that?

No amount of posturing, posing, preening and " blank psycho staring" will get past that.
You can't win a boxing match if you're not boxing.

 

i get you now, len. that suggests stamina issues, which can be improved. i suspect all that "body popping" **** would soon be solved by an opponent with a bit about him!

 

His dad had a very low work rate too. He "conned" his way through aLOT of fights throughout his career. Fellas were afraid to rush his and hustle him because of his power. When he finally came a cropper it was against Steve Collins ..a guy who way both big strong and tough enough to take Eubanks'
power and fit enough to keep hustling him at a pace Eubank wasn't comfortable with.

BJS -take note ....

Also let's not forget that Senior studiously avoided another British Middle who he knew was a slick speedster who would make him look bad -Herrol Graham.

Not saying the relatively unproven BJS is as thought as Steve or as slick and slippery as Herrol, but if he can incorporate SOME of their qualities he should have a sort of template for " how to beat a Eubank"!!!

 

Let's not forget by the time Collins got to Eubank, it's fair enough to say he wasn't the best version of himself & had been involved in a lot of hard fights.

 

Of course. What I was saying was in no way an attack on Serior, tether an indication of where juniors weaknesses may lie, and how BJS could exploit them.

Given the apparent strong similarities ( well apparent to me anyway) between the Eubanks' I feel if BJS can incorporate some Collins-type work rate and hustle with Some Herrol Graham-type slipperiness then he could be on a winning formula to beat Eubank jr. :good

Personally I think he ought to be able to pull it off.
