Why Ellerbe and Floyd split up ?

I dunno but Mayweather losing in one of his last fights or not honouring his agreement with showtime are not far fetched scenarios at all.

Ellerbe is a good loyal assistant but he's not a leader. Floyd doesnt need the CEO to help him stretch it the gym everyday or work his corner on fight night. He needs his CEO to grow his business and Ellerbe wasn't doing that. Friendship and loyalty will only get your so far in life.

pretty drastic move to just fire him tho. I would have expect floyd to demote him but still keep him around.

Just a guess, if Mayweather Promotions wants to be a legitimate operation, they need more than a Yes Man. I suspect Haymon wants to have a larger role, and perhaps even bring in Richard Schaefer providing he can get out of his GB contract.
