And the list continues to grow as Mayweather nears his retirement date when he really becomes the laughing stock of boxing in his golden years. He would have got his ass whipped anyway and he knows it.

The fight is just a money making event now for the to get a good final pay day. In boxing terms, this could have been the biggest fight of all time if it happened in 2009/ 2010. PPV wise, it will still sell very well but true boxing fans know that this fight is nowhere near as relevant as it would have been 5 years ago.

Showtime are obviously pushing for Floyd to take this fight but ill wait for an official announcement before I believe it

Im not biased towards either Floyd or Pacquiao but you have to admit Arum is a piece of **** who doesnt care about his fighters (I say the same about GBP) he just wants to make money for himself and is the main roadblock when its come down to negotiations

He's making outrageous statements like wanting to stage the fight in China after he was all up for building the "super stadium" to stage the fight . . . . he cant seem to make up his mind. Mayweather seems to want the fight to be under his promotional banner because Arum will be taking a large cut out of Manny's purse which would of course mean Manny would be asking for more percentage wise to compensate for this

End of the day it all comes down to Money, Floyd deserves more despite his recent perfomances against Maidana he still won both fights without doubt and he is the A side like it or not. Manny is still coming back from the knockout loss to Marquez and besides hitting the walking punchbag that is Brandon Rios at will he did get buzzed against Bradley and would have lost again but it just looked to me like Bradley gave up in that fight

Mayweather should rightfully take a 60/40 split unless Pacquiao took the guaranteed 40 million deal (Mayweather made 32 mil for Maidana i believe) so in the grand scheme of things it works out well for Manny especially if Arum isnt involved as he wouldnt have to pay his cut to him

Long and short of it is the fight didnt get made before because of one thing : Money

Niether Manny or Mayweather are afraid of each other annd they both see weaknesses in the other that they could exploit, the sho/hbo thing is allegedly not an issue and the only thing i can see Floyd wanting is decent drug testing to be done which in this sport why would you say no to it?

Im hoping this fight gets made they will likely build it up in their next fights first and fight in September time with Khan/Garcia/Marquez being thrown into the mix for the May dates

Im not a massive floyd fan (I was rooting for Maidana in both fights) but I dont see Pacquiao as the consenseus number two in the division anymore.

Kieth Thurman - avoided by most of the top fighters in the division, has had some tough learning fights against Chaves and Soto Karass but still won via knockout and is looking like a genuine prospect unlike Shawn Porter who has shown his limitations against Julio Diaz and Kell Brook

Marcos Maidana - Coming off the Devon Alexander loss Maidana has improved tremendously under Robert Garcia in beating the likes of Lopez, Karass and Broner (not to mention pushing Floyd hard in both fights) he rightfully lost to the better fighter but there is no shame in that he is still a top fighter in the division

Juan Manuel Marquez - Lets face it Pac fans, Marquez has and always will have Pacquiaos number until the day comes where he finally declines. Ive had him winning all 4 fights and if he were to fight a pointless 5th fight he would likely outbox Pacquiao again and now shows he has the power to knock him out

Amir Khan - a couple of years ago id be saying Pacquiao would stop Khan . . . . nowadays id have to give Khan the edge with Pacquiaos power dimished it would come down to speed and quite frankly Khan has the edge over everyone in that department even Floyd. He is chinny but you have to catch him with a clean shot to be able to do that

Devon Alexander - Yes he lost to Porter but I personally dont think he was motivated going into that fight, hell before that fight I had no idea who Porter was. Alexander is a coin toss when he goes into the ring as you never know if hes going to come in at 100% but when he has he has looked good and still has the tools to beat a past prime Manny

People are still looking at Pacquiao as if he was still the powerhouse from back in 2008, hes declined heavily (especially since ditching Ariza) and has a parkinsons Trainer which cant help for his preperations leading into the fight. sounds harsh but even Mayweather started working with his father because of his uncles health issues and even recently is changing his team around with the whole Ellerbe/Garcia split.

Pacquiao needs to be advised to leave Roach and train with someone a little more capable of getting him into the right shape for fight night if he wants to have a hope in hell of beating Floyd . . . . maybe Robert Garcia given the recent success he has had improving Maidanas flaws at such a late stage in his career. Hell even Virgil Hunter would be better at this point and I think he is a very over rated trainer.

But to get back on topic with the Thread title Pacquiao needs to look at his promoter for the problems and not at Floyd who I genuinely believe is willing to make the fight . . . . Manny just needs to accept hes the B side attraction

a disgraceful way to refer to an afflicted man whose achievements dwarf yours, and indicative of the **** you are, but putting that aside, please link where freddie states "manny ran for the hills refusing blood tests". thanks in advance.

I can't believe there wasn't a MAJOR incentive for this fight to happen
how can they offer Floyd the deal that they did, but overlook the one fight that would guarantee that their profits would be maxed?

amazing aren't they? apparently the fight hasn't happened because pac said "anytime, anywhere" at a time that doesn't suit floyd, and we have to ignore "who?", "my health comes 1st", "he hasn't earnt it" and "he has to sign with tmt"!

The greatest cruiserweight of all time and 4 time heavyweight champion and one of the greatest heavyweights of all time?

Beat every man he fought until the age of 36 when he fought Lennox Lewis?

Wins over Tyson, Bowe, Foreman, Holmes, Moorer and a draw with Lewis?
