Does the fact he loses all the time count?

in their primes though, jones has to be king
    for longevity, Hopkins is foreman-esque

Prime for prime, Jones destroys Hopkins in a fight. That's just obvious. There are very few I would give a shot to trouble prime Jones(not necessarily beat him).

I think it's fair to say that Hopkins is greater than Foreman at this stage. Surely many will disagree but that's just how I see it.

If Jones had retired after beating Tarver the first time, then this would be different. Hopkins is alread passed Jones in greatness!

He remains greater in my opinion. The fact that he's attempting to unify at 50 isn't something you would expect to see from someone anytime soon(if ever).

Thru his career, Jones had to rely solely on his natural athleticism which far surpassed anyone he fought.
When he peaked and got pass prime he lost his reflex's and became prey to the repeated KO.

Skill for skill, Hopkins is still around simply because his level of skill was far greater than Jone's.
Hopkins is probably the most consistent MW/LHW champion of the era.
His ATGness betters that of Jones because he has always been more consistent than Jones, never being beat up or KO'ed in over 50 professional fights.

Agreed. Due to his longevity, Hopkins has surpassed Jones, legacy wise.

What Bhops is doing pretty much no one will be able to match in a very long time. Greater than Rj, tho? I still think Roy Jones victories over prime Hopkins himself and Toney are alittle better than 2 great welters and a middleweight at 175. Plus winning the heavyweight crown, even against a mediocre heavyweight like Ruiz, can't be overlooked. H2h prime for prime its clear Rj was better, but cuz Bhops currently is still winning and Rj is losing to journeymen it can make some people sway towards Bhops, but when all is said and done and both are retired resume wise they'll be neck and neck.

Already greater IMO whatever happens in Kovalev fight, winning it would be a big bonus to his legacy though for which after I wish he retires.

Exactly what has the TOMATO KAN Krusher done that would enhance Hopkins' legacy when he beats him?

Only real sensible reply (besides my own) in the thread.

The fact is, Kovalev is a nobody who has only crushed empty soup cans in his short career. The only difference between he and Shumenov is that he did a better job of crushing the same tin cans.
