They won't announce numbers, which means they wont announce numbers they are disappointed by. This was Floyd's 4th bout on his 6-fight deal. Only one has cracked a million buys, the Canelo record breaking fight they gleefully announced. But the others did poorly based on their own expectations. The Maidana rematch won't come close a million buys either. I saw some reports claiming 925k. I do not believe that at all. My sources, at least as of yesterday, were saying it might hit the high 800s, meaning a little better than the first fight. But it's still too early on a Thursday after the fight to truly know when they are missing MAJOR cable system numbers like Comcast.

wow, my prediction was 700-800. not far off.

this is worse than the first fight, on par with the expectations of many, due to shitty undercard.

plus, they moved it an hour earlier but virtually had no effect on the buys.

more losses than the previous fight.

no wonder choketime is ready to cash out.

i reckon, this is the first time tmt's major promotional underataking and it tanked.

so that's why, ellerbbee got the boot.

    Fat Dan's 'sources'.

High 800k isn't exactly far off the 925k we've heard so far. I'll wait until I hear from a proper source.

Fat Dan's numbers are always off (Low), and probably because he missed a portion as he was smacking his lips on a pork chop.

Any fool should easily be capable of seeing the second fight did better numbers than the 1st. So, the early projection based on network feedback is probably in the neighborhood of the actual numbers of 900K or more.

    it;s not high 800k.

    key word, might.

high 800 could be anywhere b/n 851-899, technically.

fact that he mentioned high 800 instead of close to 900, means it;'s closer to 850 than 900.

corpsejr's first major promotional undertaking is a loss.

    no wonder ellerbbee got sacked.

32 mil for floyd, 3mil for madona plus production and promotion cost of about 12-15mil. = $47-50mil.

since distributors take half, break even ppv revenue to cover that is 94-100mil....
    This content is protected
. high 800's ain't even close to break even numbers.

    (1.5mil ppv buy x 65bucks = 97,500,000.00)

factor the loss of showtime to moving the fight an hour earlier. some revenues where lost from the programming sched in that time slot.

corpsejr's first big promo undertaking is a major loss for him and choketime.

no wonder ellerbbeee got the boot.

choketime "time to cash out and make the pac fight'
    corpsejr "im off to africa":rofl

Another flop PPV. The first fight didn't even get official numbers, right?

SHO didn't make any money......The only fight that SHO has made money on is the Canelo fight which did ridiculous numbers. But all the other fights did under a million in domestic PPV buys. That's well beneath the expectation the execs at SHO had when they inked Foyd to a 6 fight contract. For sure the folks at SHO are pressing him to make the PAC fight and that might be counter productive. Floyd doesn't like pressure. He doesn't like being told what to do or for anyone to expect him to do anything he doesn't want to do.
