This won't do very well at all.......The whole card is bush and it's going to be on foreign soil. Those fights historically do not do well for US PPV events. He'll do similar numbers to the fight he had in China against Brandon.

    pac is guaranteed by venetian.

venetian makes their money off the gaming and pac is known to bring the high rollers from asia, even to his fights in vegas.

so arum only needs to worry about promotional expenses and the undercards.

aside from the u.s. ppv revenues, there will be china ppv, albiet at a fraction of the price.

but the potential buys is staggering.

macau already dwarfs vegas in terms of gaming revenues.

who knows if they can do that to entertainment like boxing too.

Lol quit your trolling, the only benefit of fighting in macau is the tax break. Aside from that it's the same thing. You act as if gamblers over seas where prevented from gambling just because he was fighting in vegas, people over seas gambled in the past as well. You also act like they only held ppv option in u.s, it has been offered to other countries as well.

they werent able to offer ppv in china. but they will now.

i go with the report that venetian guaranteed pac's purse. if you think otherwise, you should qustion the source.

i specifically mentioned high rollers from asia. obviously, if youre in asai, it's easier and cheaper to travel to hongkong than the u.s., visa hassles and such.

iirc, there were reports of 200m in the gaming rev in the week leading to the pac fight.

plus venetian gets to keep the gate i supposed, so 18m is a fraction of venetian made during the fight.

Most people fail to see the scope of the world outside of the US. Macau is to Vegas what Vegas is to Atlantic City. Plus Vegas is partly a tourist attraction, Macau is strictly gambling. It's also geographically more convenient for all of Asia, Australia and the majority of Europe. We're talking a boatload of $$$ being gambled there.

I'm also guessing the gambling laws aren't as strict as they are in the US, factor that in with the added (guaranteed?) revenue Pacquiao's fight will bring, I wouldn't be surprised if Pac got a little extra under the table, especially if he fights there exclusively from now on. Arum probably gets his pockets lined up too.

The money is there for Top Rank, Pac and Macau and if it's good enough I see Pac having a few more fights there before retiring. Not necessarily a good thing though :!:

Anyway, on topic: Undercard is a notch better than May/Maidana 2.

    Bad main event.

Pretty good, not great, under card.

Vargas vs. DeMarco is the best undercard and while it's a worthy fight and Vargas is a top 5 JWW, lets not act like it is anything revolutionary. Beyond that, you've got two legendary amateurs who are novice pros against limited opponents in what should be mismatches.

But why would you have to travel to place a bet? That's what I don't understand. If gamblers bet on a fight, they can do it easily on a phone or computer. Sure for people in Asia who want to watch the fight, it's easier for them to watch live. But the gambling makes no difference whether it's here in vegas or macau, gamblers will bet regardless.

Also I read Bob arum is still unable to set up a structure to charge ppv in china. Supposedly it's not set up and will not be offered as a ppv In asia. Article said they even tried to charge only $1 for the event, and it would of made tons of profit because of the amount of people, however they were not able to set it up.
