corpsejr is never going to be above pac in any atg rankings. fotd and 3 atgs in resume, just beat a top 3 p4p at 35 in his 7th div. corpsejr wouldnt have any accomplishment greater than that.
I think they're in the ball park in terms of rankings. Both damn good fighters. I personally rank them higher than the majority in classic, but anything between 21-50 starts to get extremely subjective in an already subjective exercise.
Doesn't matter where they rank on a list as long as Pac Man is always ahead of Floyd. Anything other than that is just a farce
Pac and Money are about dead even to me. Had Pac in the lead till he was put to sleep by Marquez but he gained ground after Bradley 2. Floyd lost a bit after his lackluster 1st bout with Maidana (had it either a draw or +1/+2 for Floyd depending on my mood) and he just barely did enough to win in their 2nd fight. Depending on how Manny does against Algeri will dictate their standing imo.
I think it's close too. That's why even at this late stage a fight between them would be meaningful. The winner would likely go down in history as the one ranking higher than the loser, but I would assume they both know this.
Pacquiao is definitely ahead of Floyd, I don't even think that's debatable tbh. Think about it properly.. W Garcia - just adding a name because Manny will fight one more of these dudes. W Algieri W Bradley x 2 (a future HOF) W Rios NC Marquez (Marquez had a HGH gut and blatant roiding IMO) W Margarito W Clottey (decent, underrated win) W Cotto W Hatton W Diaz W Morales 2 W Barrera x 2 W Lehwaba W Sasakul D Marquez x 3 (I call it a draw because they were so even) History will be kind to Manny Pacquiao.
History is kind to almost every fighter who retires. Seldom are greats fully appreciated until years after they are retired for proper perspective. Find databases of rankings by the decade to see how time changes views. --- As for ranking those wins, Rios/Margarito/Algieri are not truly noteworthy wins for a HOF-level fighter. They do little to boost a resume when the resume already is as great and deep as Pacquiao's is.
This list loses all credibility when it doesn't rank Jack Johnson anywhere in the top 48. He holds victories over Sam Langford, apparently #1 according to these guys, and each of the top guys Langford beat to get ranked so highly (McVea, Jeannette) as well as his reign as HW champ... I'm not saying Jack Johnson has to rank ahead of Langford, but anyone who ranks Langford so highly better have Johnson right below if they are using any sort of consistent criteria (especially if they rank other fighters with less activity than Johnson above him, as the pure quantity of bouts Langford has would be the only real argument).
