With a statement like that, you can quit pretending that you've ever watched anything below Bantamweight.
A good % of the human population. Just because you look outside your house and don't see too many doesn't mean it's like that all over the world.
The only weight class that needs to changed in Heavyweight which should follow suit with the Olympics by separating Heavyweight from Super Heavyweight.
There is a good reason why Olympics has Super Heavyweight also. Competing countries demand a competitive landscape unimpaired by large size/weight differences between fighters.
Yeah but has there ever been a 250+ pound HW who was unbeatable? Never and nowhere close to. Once you start talking about those sort of numbers, the weight almost always works against them no matter what their frame is. I guess I just don't really care. HW is dead. I follow it like I do every division, but I also certainly follow it less than almost every single division out there.
That's the point. HW is dead exactly because it lacks this division. The Klits have ruled exactly because in most instances they have a size advantage over their opponents. In 1995, Vitali won Silver in the Olympics as a SUPER heavyweight. Then Vitali tested positive for steroids and was kicked off the team. In 1996, Vlad won Gold in the Olympics as a SUPER heavyweight.
How about...? 112 118 126 135 147 160 175 175+ The original 8 divisions are superior to any other reinventing of the divisions that people could come up with.
Maybe you have good strength but i doubt it. Have you ever been world-class weightlifter or powerlifter? These guys have good strength. Be modest and don't be an idiota!
One of the stupidest idea. When lots of 200-220 pounds fighter can beat over 300 pounds fighters. The 217 lbs Haye beat the 316 lbs Valuev. (The 40 years old C.Thompson destroyed Haye by the way.) I don't care these klitschko fanboy ideas i wanna see better fighters. Why 220 pounds? Because this tricky idea can help the klitschkos legacy. Oh no, loser! The 210.75 lbs glass-chinned,featherfisted,fat Byrd beat the 244.25 lbs quitali klitschko. This 210.75 lbs wasn't a ripped body.Basically a fat guy(Byrd) with a not too muscular cruiserweights' muscle mass beat vitali klitschko. Plus I think Byrd never had real top quality muscle mass(fast twitch fibers). Your idea is a bad way for the heavyweight division. The lower divisions are about fighters who aren't good enough for the heavyweight division. Lots of modern 220+ fighter are fat as hell . These stupid weight ideas can't help the boxing at all. So shut up!And don't be a keyboard chicken!
