I don't want this to deescalate into "who ducked who" (because in the end we usually know **** all as to why a particular fight didn't happen), but just top fighters around his weights he hasn't faced for whatever reason.

Pac, obviously, but that could still happen. Kostya? Morales? Barrera?

He couldn't fight Kostya, Morales, Barrera because of weight differences. It just wasn't going to work.

Margarito, Paul Williams both provide a stylistic threat and Mayweather chose retirement instead of fighting them.

I'm not sure but maybe Floyd vs Mosley could have happened earlier. Mosley in 2010 is not even near to being what he was like in 2000 for example.

    Other than that, nobody really.

It should be remembered that Floyd Mayweather always comes in under 150lbs on fight night and he's at an era where you can't easily get away with diuretic usage and fighters usually outweigh him by 15lbs+

He didn't face Cotto in 2008 either, however Cotto did the best he could against Mayweather, using his size to maximum advantage in their fight, so it evens out.

Margarito (say what you will but Margarito was a scary MoFo at the time, cheater or not), Pacquiao (obviously), Acelino Freitas, Joel Casamayor, Vernon Forrest and Cory Spinks would have been decent opponents in like 2006 but in no way were they ducked (lesser fighters had beat them), Kostya Tszyu around 2004, and Mosley (when Mosley was younger).

Ah I forgot a few of the monsters of 130lbs. Surely there were some dudes at 140lbs. His resume at 140lbs was terrible.

There wasn't much of a window for a meet with Kostya, but they were active at 140 at the same time.

Morales was one weight class below Floyd during his prime years, but he was probably around the same weight in the ring so it could have happened (but no knock on El Terrible for not moving up when he had his hands full with MAB and Pac).

Pretty much the same with MAB. Could have moved up to SFW a bit earlier to challenge Floyd, I guess, but of course it made sense to stay at FW a bit longer and duke it out with Morales et al.

You canr really use the weight difference as a reason he brought marquez up for a fight, and hatton went up to fight him

Casamayor, Freitas, Johnson, Tszyu, Margarito, Williams, Pacquiao.

There is also Wright but I always thought him too big.

instead we got the likes of ortreez, guerreruo, madona2x, really? and an unroided granpa.

the only chance of him getting better legacy fights were against macne and drainelo, and he borked both: one was bloated and cheated and the other, drained to a corpse.

Ortiz was a good fight, and he was the title holder not Floyd.

Loads wanted the Maidana rematch due to how close the fight was.
