Lamont Peterson, knocked out by matthysse, technically shouldn't have his belt, literally only the champ on paper.

Every heavyweight "titlist" except the longtime champ.

    Jurgen Brahmer at LHW
Danny Jacobs and every other minor WBA/WBC titlist
Jessie Vargas and Peterson at LWW

There are a couple more paper titleholders as well.

How dare you call Micky Bey a paper champ. He is the solid unified lightweight glass chin champion of the world. Undisputed.

I would add Danny Garcia to this list, because I am sure the general consensus is that Mauricio Herrera beat him convincingly in their world title fight this past March, however Garcia got the decision by abject robbery, and therefore Garcia is now a champion in name only. Perhaps this does not meet the criteria used for the other boxers mentioned so far on this thread, but I do think Garcia is now a champion in name/on paper only.

I wouldn't call him a paper champion but there is some merit in what you're saying. The titles he won, the first (WBC) was stripped off Bradley to basically give to Morales and the Khan fight was for a WBA title and Khan was coming off a loss.

However I'll give him a pass of calling him a paper titlist because of the Matthysse fight.

Won his WBA belt from vacancy over... Nilson Tapia... years ago... with several lukewarm and weak defenses to follow before facing a couple fringe top 10 and top 10 ranked guys.

Although he's clearly better than many/most titlists, the origins of his title is as paper thin as any.
