García Hirales is getting caught with jabs on the lip as he backs up, tosses out straight deterrents, and slingshots into a deep low forward bow. García Hirales is looking to clinch. Mendoza is needling in with the high right jab and looking for body shots. Grazing counter hook on the face by García Hirales. Long uppers on the body by Mendoza. García Hirales pitches into him and uses him for support. Mendoza is cracking down with heavy lefts and getting held. García Hirales is backed into the ropes by stiff jabs and chopping lefts, and runs as Mendoza thwarts his clinch attempts.

Round 10

García Hirales is hopping backward and loading up porch-swing lefts, setting traps for Mendoza. The local Tijuana man is unconcerned, walking García Hirales down and letting his uppercuts bounce off his sides, gleefully putting leather of his own along García Hirales' belt line. Another holding attempt results in García Hirales losing his balance and getting pummeled into submission and onto the canvas on all fours. Twenty seconds left as García Hirales rises. García Hirales bows in, no clinch available, so he runs for the ropes. Mendoza chases, banging the body.

Round 11

García Hirales is hit with a right hook downstairs that sends him scampering across the ring. Mendoza follows and looks for more body shots, favoring the uppercut. García Hirales is putting together right hooks and overhand lefts, headhunting, some of his shots looking completely thin and devoid of steam, exhausted. García Hirales is holding when he can. Mendoza claps him with a left shot up from the hip and clanging down on García Hirales' right temple. Big left uppercut on the ribs mustered by García Hirales leaning in on Mendoza. ANOTHER low blow by García Hirales, sending Mendoza to his knee momentarily, but no warning or deduction. García Hirales feeds Mendoza his jab while backing into the ropes, staying just out of reach of Mendoza's power punches up top. García Hirales runs out of room and has to flop in, holding on. Mendoza is now doubled over by the wild body shots of García Hirales and clapped across the backside with big ax-swings! Mendoza was looking a bit punched out and possibly in trouble down the stretch there!
