All this talk of Ant Dirrell facing Groves soon, got me wondering what's going on with Andre Dirrell, boxrec has him last fighting Biosse (the fella Callum Smith went 10rds with) and Andre put him away in 5.What's the view on Andre? can he come again? looking at the facts, i.e Paul Smith fighting for a world title next week, there is nothing to suggest he can't also. thoughts?

His name pops up every now and again.

He isn't relevant until he gets back into the ring again.

He looked fine against Biosse. It was obvously just a comeback fight against a lesser opponent, but he got the job done and looked fine. After the fight, Dirrell said that his objective is the eventual Froch rematch and that he will try to work his way back to the top. He also said that he is ready for the other titleholders.

Collie - Yeah I know what you mean by irrelevant, just read he's set to fight on the Soliman show in October, possibly even headline dependant on the Taylor saga.

Stallion - I never saw the Biosse fight - cheers for the info, I doubt the Froch return would go ahead though , what can Dirrell bring that Froch needs / wants ?

he needs to get a shift on, 2 high-end opponents in quick succession. it ain't gonna happen.

Yes, it's a bit unrealistic, and Dirrell was probably aware of that as well. He said that he knows how the things work and that he wants to work his way up to that position.

To be honest, I don't think that Froch will be interested in the Dirrell rematch ever if Andre would come back among the top guys. I think that the Ward fight would be more realistic.

Andre is fighting on the Taylor-Soliman undercard.

Looks like the shift to Haymon will see him getting active again.

Either one of them beats Glass Jaw Groves.

Think Andre can come back & make waves then to the point of taking title's back then ZakMan..

Boxrec has him listed as a LH at the minute, that actually makes a lot of sense for him to be up there, as really the titles at SM won't be on offer, as he'll not get Froch & doubt he'd fight his brother haha & no way is Abraham / Smith going anywhere near him!
