He was more aggressive at the lower weights, yes. This hardly equates to having a great offence though. I'm talking combination punching done fluidly. Floyd is not that kind of fighter.
Hatton and Gatti were B class and Floyd did not showcase truly great offence in those fights imo. Hardly Tommy Hearns stuff.

It was not just the chin. He was getting knocked out because he did not have the defensive fundamentals to fall back on when those reflexes faided.

Very impressive. Floyd throwing combo's in spurts and landing some outstanding counters. Typical early Floyd. It's Still hardly great offence imo.

I don't like how Floyd is in that vid though. He's not top 5 in a million years.

Someone in his camp ought to have told him to keep his hands up around his head when he fights instead of around his waist.

Lol Not in his prime though. He was a thing of beauty. We wouldnt have those amazing Jones highlight reels to watch [emoji6] Even though it ****ed up his longevity at the top level in the end.
He used to be a great talker in his prime. Now he sounds like James Toney. Those Ko's have gave him brain damage. He should ****ing retire

When I think of a complete fighter, I break it down in a few categories:

    Offense
    Defense
    Ring IQ
    Ring Generalship

From 130-140 lbs, I have a hard time believing there are 5 boxers in the history of the sport that are superior to Mayweather.

He had terrific offense, his combinations were a thing of beauty. He's obviously one of the greatest defensive fighters to lace up a pair of gloves and his Ring IQ and generalship are through the roof. ALmost every fight he's in, the opposition is forced to fight Mayweather's style. And as if he didn't already have enough elite boxing qualities he also has a very sturdy chin as evident from the fact he can take his oppositions best shots and still not fall down. It's kind of unfair how great this guy is in every facet of the sport.

He's obviously not looked as dominant in his 4th and 5th weight divisions as he had during his time between 130-140, but he's just such an elite 2 way fighter that he can get away with fighting naturally larger men and schooling them to wide UD's at this stage in his career. A true ATG.

At 130-135, he as all those things. Cut the bull****.

    1. High WorkRate at 130-135
    2. Had power at 130-135
    3. :blood He was a GREAT COMBO PUNCHER AT 130-135
    4. You don't even believe that. His pull back counter is defense to offense in one motion.

I wouldn't mind knowing who those boxing heads are cause I've been watching boxing for about 40 years now and I just don't see this.

Ali, Duran, Jones, SRL, Hearns all fought at a higher level than Floyd when you consider a variety of factors.

But hey I'm open minded, so what do the boxing heads have to say about this, show me a couple of links.

    1. Not great high work rate at 130-135 but decent.
    2. Did have power at 130-135. Not great power though.
    3. He was not a great combo puncher at 130-135. Great is a strong word.
    4. It is well known Floyd resets himself after every attack. He does not blend offence and defence fluidly. What does he do after the pull back counter? Reset himself that's what he does.
