'Its not the issues with the promoter that are keeping him from fighting, it's the fact that nobody wants to step up and fight'

'If people won't fight him because he's too good, they should come out and say that'

Hunter also ruled out a move to light heavyweight.

So it's not promotional issues and being in a legal quagmire, it's that all of boxing is now literally ducking Ward.

    Totally believable.

i guess he's gotta try and put a positive gloss on ward's sabotage of his own career, but it's unlikely even stb is naïve enough to keep lapping this obvious bull**** up.

Why can't he be the one to step up?.

I've heard him say in an interview that he doesn't call other fighters out. He only wants to be called out.

He only wants to be called out.

And, choose the venue. And the ref. And it's gonna be at 168. Oh yeah, the fighter should preferably be PPV caliber, too. And the people building the fight should just pretend the lawsuits don't exist. And you get the short money.

For the life of me, I just can't fathom why there's not a waiting list of fighters around the block who fit the profile of what Andre's looking for.

Even if that was true it doesn't explain why he hasn't fought anyone else in the interim.

If it wasn't his promotional issues and top fighters ducking him then why hasn't Ward fought any top 15-20 super middle and stayed active while trying to get the big names?

Clearly any potential fight would have to be negotiated with his promoter Goosen who is unlikely to want to spend any time and effort promoting a fighter who is trying to break his contract.

Ward was offerd a two fight deal by Stevenson, but he was, according to Ward, not worthy enough then. Stevenson was then fighter of the year!

Virgil is right to an extent, but nobody needs Ward.

Groves can get the WBC title from Dirrel, and shoot for a rematch against Froch or Degale.

Froch can fight Degale, Dirrel, Groves, JCC or move up to LHW.

Ward NEEDS these guys more than they need him. You think Froch needs him? No way. Ward needs him more than ever.

Ward will either have to come out of his hometown and fight these guys or go up. If he fails to do either then he might as well retire.

Ward, IMHO, made a FATAL mistake when he fought Dawson @ 168. OK, so Chad said he'd fight at either weight, but if Ward would have went up he'd have been a two-weight champ and would have had much more bargaining power than he already has.

Ward's stubbornness is and will probably kill his career.

    Yes, it is promotional issues.

Obviously, Hunter is a trainer and doesn't want to outright diss Goosen.

So, what his is saying is that Goosen isn't being aggressive in getting Ward matches and if the other side pushes than Goosen will have to respond. The problem is, no manager/promoter from the other side is pushing Goosen to make a deal.

incredible, there's always 1. ward is unavailable, that is the fault not of rival promoters (nor even his own), but ward himself.
