Steroids will give you a bigger neck, bigger traps, and strong jaw muscles. Anyone who doesnt believe this will help as a shock absorber is living under a rock. You might as well believe people who cant take a punch have a jawbone that is literally made of glass.

Short of a video of Holyfield shooting roids into his ass I think hes got more circumstantial evidence pointing the finger at him than anyone I can think of: the big weight gains of solid muscle at a post pubescent age while participating in a cardio intensive sport, the rapid balding, the sudden onset heart issues, the training with steroid freak Lee Haney, the whole Evan Fields incident (that one right there is enough for me).

On the other hand, short of his cartoonish gains in fat, Tyson was always in the relative same weight/build category from the time he was an early teen to even present. I dont get the whole B.S. about him shrinking now. He looks great to me. He had some guns last week when he almost ***** slapped that stupid Canadian reporter. Im betting he weighs about 220 right now and when factor that at his age we all start losing muscle mass and his vegan diet Id say that accounts for the relatively minimal amount of loss weve seen. Some have brought up that he fought in the 200 pound class late in the amateurs but those people ignore that he killed himself to get down to that weight due to politics so he could make the Olympic team.

Holyfield survived bombs off Riddick Bowe and George Foreman, the man had a great chin throughout his career and there's no reason to believe he wouldn't have survived Tyson's punches in the early 90's.

No, I certainly don't. Their open guards and low hands of course (yes, I know, Jones had low hands as well, but that's one of the reasons he isn't considered very technically skilled), but also their relatively spare use of the jab, chins a bit too high up, a bit wild punches (relatively) a bigger tendency to square their feet and also less varied combinations to the head and body. For me this is as clear as day.

They sure had skill, though. Nice upper body movement on both, for one thing. Especially Chocolate, I think.

if boxing experts didn't exist, do u really think people would be speaking so highly of past fighters as if they did anything better(which isn't apparent on film). if i showed a random fan who didn't know about boxing history a video of gans and a video of mayweather who do u think the guy would say is better? exactly my point. :patsch

now u guys are bringing up tyson and dempsey?
tyson is bigger, faster, stronger, more elusive, and hits harder than dempsey. why would anyone debate about this?

tyson hit much harder than dempsey, and he was much harder to hit, and he was faster on his feet. what footage are u watching???

Of course, because only perfect textbook fighters prosper today.

Open guards and low hands were much more prevalent with smaller gloves. If you think a high and tight guard would be used as standard nowadays with 4-6oz gloves you're a mad man.
