He'll likely make small enhancements. Floyd could probably benefit from some recommendations on diet, proper stretching, the importance of rest and recovery, etc....particularly, at his age. But, I think he was really hired to help out with Floyd's stable of fighters.

Im guessing ading more plyometric training to make Floyd more explosive.

Ive nhever seen him do any of that.
Also 20 minutes runds sound impressive and everything, but all they do is teach you to box slowly for 20 minutes.

Boxing is a sport of 3 minute rounds.

He shiould be conditioned to fight hard in bursts of 3 minutes.
You wouldnt train a footballer like a marathon runner.

Obviously I am bias as a certified personal trainer & underground strength coach ( a hands on certification), but I beleive Floyd will benefit greatly from a more modern approach to his training routine. As of now, everything Floyd does (or at least shows) from a s&c standpooint, is run long miles, jumprope, pullups/dips/ & pushups. Which so far haven't hurt Floyd, but I honestly feel that he is selling himself short at THIS STAGE of his career.

Listen, Floyd is a superbly conditioned athlete who trains almost to the point of insanity. However, at his age and years in the sport, this type of training is not as effective as usual, in my opinion. ( Another poster here on ESB has already eluded to the fact that Floyd burns his nervous system due to his training style, which is why he has been somewhat flat the last 2 fights, to which I somewhat agree).

Now in regards to Alex, I have no idea what he will work on but I assume he will address the need to increase Floyd's power output via explosive movements (med ball throws, etc...) and plyometrics (jump training).
Floyd doesn't need any extra endurance training in my opinion (of course I am just observing from what you tube and all access shows us), but he does need to increase his anerobic threshold. Though he is an extremely defensive fighter, I also think part of the reason he doesn't throw a lot of combinations is becuase he tries to preserve as much energy as possible to last the fight. This works against fighters like Guerrero/Canelo, but against high voume fighters such as fighters like Pacquiao, Khan, etc..., he probaly will have to either hurt them earlier and/or throw a higher volume of punches throughout the fight to keep them honest, as it not easy to win rds. against fighters with their workrate. So by increasing his anerobic threhsold (in layman terms his power energy system), it will allow him to throw more power punches and just as important result in more knockdowns/knockouts.

    Just my .02 ents.

Try to improve floyds non-existent power, Maidana just walked through them powder puff shots and his face looked like he just came back from the spa.

Yep, I just mentioned that about his improving his power. Not that he doesn't have any (as he hurt Maidan with some body shots), but he definitely should have more pop, brittle hands or not.

I might be looking into nutrition and S+C just to stay in shape. I've lost 30+ lbs going to the gym and inconsistently calorie counting. So I'll definitely stay tuned.
