I am afraid I came to the exact opposite conclusion. Golota, as you said, does appear to be in a bit better shape. And the fact that these guys seem friendly, has me thinking Doc is going to land a crushing blow on Golota.

    Hope I'm wrong.

And maybe, because as I recall, Golota and Terrible Tim were friendly during the tour in the lead-up to their fight, and while that may have been the most uneventful Golota fight I ever recall seeing, Golota outclassed Witherspoon that evening.

    GO GO GOLOTA!

Golota is so battle-worn I would not at all be surprised if your conclusion proved true. He's been stopped his last three fights.

That said, he did hold up to a lot of hard punches in his last fight against Saleta before finally getting TKOed. As far as I know Saleta was not known to be a devastating hitter, but then neither was Nicholson. And Saleta showed up in EXCELLENT shape for that fight for a guy his age. MAYBE golota has enough to keep Nicholson on the other end of his jab and avoid any bombs. But then Golota gets hit so easy these days.....

    GO GOLOTA!!!!!

Let's just hope Nicholson hasn't been harboring hard feelings for the last 18 years from that intentional headbutt and lands a bomb for the ages!!!

I think AG can win this fight. Donnell will be gassed in 3 rounds.

Remember those windmill right hands Tim was trying to catch AG with? Probably threw his shoulder out of joint!:yep

I was thinking about that headbutt. Paybacks can be hell!!! Maybe Donnell with try a lowblow.

Holy Crap! Where has all this time gone since Golota was a Sherman Tank that I was sure would be HW Champ one day? I even when to MSG to see his fight with Ruiz. Damn, I was so sure Golota would be Champ that night. And worst of all, I went with this Nazi friend of mine, who as soon as the fight started, he started yelling for Ruiz to kill the dumb Pollack! Fk'ing *******...some friend!

JETSKI isn't it weird Golota is fighting Nicholson for his last fight? The first time I ever even heard of Golota was the Nicholson fight in March of 1996. We've come full circle!

Golota had some decent defense back when he fought Witherspoon. He was fairly quick and had good head movement so avoiding Witherspoon's windmill right hands wasn't too difficult back then. But Golota is so easy to hit these days so who knows. At least Golota is in much better shape and as you said, Nicholson is likely to gas out early on, so Golota will have that advantage. That is if he can get past the jitterbug first round!

    ONE FINAL TIME..........GO GOLOTA!!!!!!!!

Exactly! I was thinking the same thing last night. HBO called it "Night of the Upcoming HW's" or something like that. 1st time I heard of or saw Golota. I said this guy looks like a tank, but probably can't box. Was I ever wrong! Too bad about the mental issues...

And that was A LONG time ago!

Yep I remember Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant talking about Golota's reputation for being big, slow and mean just before the fight. Well Golota proved they got two out of three right that night. :yep

Yep! That was the same night as Tua-Ruiz and a few other fights. I think Briggs lost that night. And I remember Foreman talking up Golota's amateur career, and saying just because Doc won the first round, Golota wasn't going to just lay down.

Foreman was the best Golota commentator ever!

I just remember him at Golota Bowe 1 repeating you don't want to do that son when people were rioting post DQ!!
