Damn Kirkland, what up with that? First he said he didn't have enough time to train and then switched excuses when that was taken care of and said it was the money...no bueno.

Nothing new for Kirkland to withdraw from career high paydays after accepting the fight. And nothing new for Kirkland to have wide gaps of inactivity, either... No surprises here. Just a little disappointment.

Supposedly turned down 275k for the fight, and now he'll end up with no date.

I've never seen anybody quite like Kirkland in boxing. The fans crave to watch him fight, but he refuses to get in the ring due to some stupid dispute.

I guess he's upset that Mr. Cent would take too much money, but something has to be better than nothing considering he probably has legal and child support bills.

He did the right thing. Any 50 cent fighter loses period. So he needs to leave 50 cent before he gets back in the ring

I read the article from his lawyer on Yahoo.com. Kirkland is a strange guy. He seriously needs a mental health professional to help him out.

This is why I laugh when someone says dumb things like: "Fighters just want to fight" "These guys are fighters, they will fight anybody" etc.
Boxing could be under the control of 1 person/promoter/organization and we still wouldn't get all the "best" fights because there are guys out there who just do not want some fights.

I am not exactly thrilled with Kirkland either but seriously 275K is not much money for a fight like that. After he pays EVERYONe, he will be lucky to have 100k left. Rosado was probably getting even less.

We all emplore fighters to take high risk action packed fights that take time of their quality of life for not much money then we forget about them when they lose their fighting spirit.

You then get confronted with the other model of low risk high purse paydays that dent the sport in a myriad of other negative ways.

You really cannot win for tyring when it is boxing.
