how ridiculous. he failed to agree a cut-off, of which both sides were guilty. the blame was shared. since then, however, it lies firmly in 1 court.

The guy has a really **** list, man lol. He doesn't even have the actual GOAT Harry Greb in there, nor Langford, Gans, Benny Leonard, Bob Fitz etc. etc.
and the 'extra consideration' points makes the standard of comparison too difficult and bias, ignoring many crucial factors in the process.

Floyd Mayweather is on the same level as Alexis Arguello where greatness is concerned.

The list is for modern greats, i.e. since WW2. Thus, the names you brought up aren't in there.

Very weird thread indeed. "There's nobody great on his resume that was great on fight night". Could this be due to the fact they were outclassed by a better fighter come fight night?!!

Top 50 ATG, I would love to see a list of 49 fighters that rank higher than mayweather.is it Floyds fault Marquez wasn't in better shape? Oscar always had problems with his stamina yet for Moseley and pac its a great win but when Floyd beats him different story. Shane avoided floyd years ago this is a fact that is always conveniently forgotten when bashing Floyd,he had toothache remember.

You admitted Shane peaked against margarito so surely floyd gets more credit for beating him at his peak, surely Floyd beat the best version of him on the back of his best performance?

You bash floyd yet you think Rigondaux is the best fighter today?!!! A pro with what 12 fights?!! Another fighter that is yet to fight an ATG and never will.

he said no pacquio talk, second of all it was floyds fault for marquez why didnt he fight him at his weight apparetnly hes a small guy anyways, he brought him up 2 weight classes hes a clear favourite, i give him credit for de la hoya but it cant be denied that oscar was past prime but i still thought he looked good, mosley was 39

He could have done better for sure. Not fighting Pacquiao, Williams or Margarito will certainly hurt his legacy.

And we know his knack for seeking every advantage he possibly can over his fighters - including making good fighters fight at uncomfortable weights (Marquez, Canelo), waiting until fighters were past their prime (Mosley, ODH), and controlling details (Maidana and gloves, Pacquiao and drug testing).

But his record is still first class and he is undefeated. Let's not overstate the importance of the gaps in his resume and be too critical because of that.

Although I accept the point about him fighting fighters being past their prime, i would not labour it. You can only gauge a career decline properly with hindsight. And who knows, it may have been their defeat at the hands of Mayweather that put their careers on skid row.

The thing that stands out for me is not so much that he is undefeated, but that no one since Castillo has come even close to beating him. That is quite some achievement given the time he has been at the top.

No one has ever come close to beating him because he choses the perfect time to pick an opponent ! None of the names he faced were in their prime once he left 130 ..And then when he did fight guys close,to their prime as of late with Ortiz,Maidana ,Gurrerro they actually had no business sharing the ring with him !

It's only impressive when you do it against guys who are world beaters most of these guys aren't !

Its his fault that he cherrypicked a fighter from two divisions bellow him and then cheated the guy on the scales coming in overweight disrespecting the agreed weight therefore making what was already a mismatch a bigger mismatch or should i say a farce.

Nobody thinks Pac's win over DLH is great so stop making **** up and the fact that you're comparing Mosley's win over a prime Oscar to the way past his best part time fighter Oscar that Floyd fought shows us that you're a dumbass.

Wrong Shane never ducked Floyd he challenged Floyd when he was lightweight champion and Floyd was a 130 pound champion and Floyd declined than Shane went up to welterweight to chase a fight with Oscar. As for the toothache how many times will that have to be explained for you know nothing *****s understand it once and for all, what Mosley said was that he had a toothache and was taking the rest of the year off and that he would fight Floyd the next year and thats what happened so how in the hell did Mosley ducked Floyd when he did what he said he would do and fought Mosley and fought Floyd when he said he would?

Shane didnt peaked against Margarito that is pure bull****, anyone who has followed Mosley's career from the start knows that he peaked in the first Oscar fight and knows that he was never the same after he lost to Vernon Forrest(RIP).

*****s aka the dumbest creatures on earth once again show that they dont know **** about boxing.
