At least Algieri brings with him to the table his tremendous welterweight victory over... oh wait, that's right.

I'm looking forward to this fight. I won't be buying the PPV, but will be following the news line. I really think Algieri can cause a lot of difficulty for Pac and I would not be surprised to see him win in an upset. He has the speed, length, and footwork to get it done. Plus after picking himself up off the canvas twice against Provodnikov, and boxing his way to a victory, he has shown he also has great heart and will to win. He faced adversity and overcame it. Good stuff to see in a prize fighter.

Do you think though, in Macau, or anywhere in fact, that if PAC drops algeri twice, then the remaining 11 rounds are identical to the Prov fight that algeri's getting the decision?

I thought he was lucky to get a decision against Prov personally, other than a few jabs he was mostly retreating and barely landed a solid shot in the fight? If provo had tried to box rather than looking for the Ko all the time he would of won that fight easily imo.

Algeris 12-1/ 15-1 in most British bookmakers if you want to bet on it

I saw a different fight. I saw Algieri continuously beat Provodnikov to the punch the rest of the night, and the punch stats reflect that as well. While rounds were close, Algieri was pulling away with each one of them. I agree that the fight may have been different had Provodnikov tried to box, but that's not his style. Hell, he may have been even less productive trying to box against the pure boxer, and the decision would have been wider.

I think people are just upset that Algieri upset the applecart. I was one of them, but had to acknowledge the win when I was watching at home. I was really looking forward to a bigger fight for Provodnikov, but he came up short.

It looks bad on paper but lets see how it looks in the ring. I believe that Algieri's style can give Pacquiao some problems.
