I wonder what would happen if when the ring bells, you go to a corner and let MAY come to you?

That would be fun. He is so used to having people come to him. Maybe it'll be better rather than "dancing and holding" all night.

Was pretty upset that his last fight with MM, ref Bayless was premature most of the evening to say "break" in the slightest of clinches rather than letting them fight it off.

Hes got a long reach and if you sit back he'd set the tempo which is not good. Especially because if he doesn't get hit he wins the round automatically in vegas so you gotta push the action to have any chance of winning on the cards.

ive always wondered that id love to see it, id say he woldnt know what to do and lose his concentration, if someone with decent balanc and size just lay at a corner trying to block stuff for a bit and wound him up maybe they could land somehting big when hes figuring out what the **** is going on

He had no problems when Zab Judah adopted the strategy after round 4 for the rest of the fight. While Mosley didn't sit in a corner, he spent rounds 3-12 letting Mayweather move forward on the attack. It seemed like Alvarez was doing some of this off and on in their fight and he had no success whatsoever, making Floyd look good when on the offensive as Alvarez chose to at times lull on the ropes himself.

He won't punch unless he knows the counter isn't a possibility or more than a minor threat with the angle exposed. Also, the jab to the body for Mayweather works brilliantly when he leads and I'm not sure he's been countered after that punch more than a handful of times in his whole career.

that was mayweather pushing them back not by choice, canelo did better when he boxed too rather than be aggressive

Mayweather has done fine in the fights when he fought on the front foot, pressing behind a high guard.

Obviously it depends on the opponent and quality, but in general, you're better off taking the fight to him and trying to outwork him. But you have to have the punch resistance and mindset to keep doing it. Some guys get hit and then they get cautious and then Floyd controls the pace and tempo
