Jones was Kod before and after he fought Calzaghe.
Hopkins lost convincingly before and after fighting Calzaghe.

    Calzaghes is overrated.

Some claim Calzaghe would always trouble Jones, Danny Green Kod Jones in one round after Calzaghe. Does that mean Danny Green also has Roy Jones number?

Yes he was undefeated, but thats partially because 90% of his opposition was awful.

Just type in Calzaghe KO Specialist in youtube and see with your own eyes.

I watched that video. It shows overmatched fighters getting stopped prematurely while fighting Calzaghe.

So what? Kessler wouldn't have any problems with those fighters. Lacy would string them together for a K.O highlight reel. Wether the referee stopped the match too soon or not, I can hardly consider them a threat to anyone operating on the world level.

I dont think anyone thinks that Calzage had a boxing style of a puncher but he could indeed punch and some of his punches were meant for speed and at times he planted and dropped a sturdy foe, he could plant and punch. IMO the best thing Joe could do is adapt to a style but he had speed, power, good chin, recovered well, good feet and hands and reflexes

At 168 pounds, he might have been the best ever. Yes he is an all time great. Calzaghe's speed, defense, smarts, and skills were excellent.

Not a huge fan but he had attributes that would have made him a nightmare fore most ATG around the same weight. Work rate and stamina were outstanding. His speed was good but his accuracy is awful for the output. He had a technically weird awkward style.

Joe is a great of his division (which isn't a historically stacked division) but he's not an ATG, no way. He's probably not a top 100 great and It's debatable whether he's a top 10 ATG Brit. He's not the greatest Welsh fighter either. Probably 3rd or 4th.

    No he's not an ATG.

    :good

    Calzaghe beats Froch.

But Froch's legacy has overshadowed Calzaghes.

    Wide UD for Joe.

I agree Froch has the tougher resume.

The Kessler loss was extremely close and Ward is probably better than anyone (in their prime) that Calzaghe fought.

Maybe if Froch waited until Ward was 43, then Froch might have got the win

    Indeed.

In the Kessler fight you saw this ability to adapt his style in action. Kessler at that time was the main rival in the division - an undefeated, dangerous fighter. Joe was arguably losing it after five rounds, but he shifted gears and stepped things up matching Kessler punch for punch. I think this was Calzaghe's finest achievement. Some say Lacy, but Lacy was overrated.

Agreed. One of the best 168 lb men ever. Not THE best but maybe top 5 of that division

No that's your turf. A Tyson thread is like **** to flies for you, azzer69.

You calling a 46-0 2 weight division champion a "bum" just shreds all your credibility (not like you had much before).

Jones in particular would not have had an easy night against Calzaghe. He was only ever happy in his own comfort zone, posturing and posing and fighting in short sharp spurts. Calzaghe would never have played along with that, he would have forced the muppet to fight for every minute of every round.

Something he was TOTALLY incapable of.

I can say what i want, its called free speech and this is a public forum.

Calzaghe is and was a bum, 21 title defenses against absolute bums.

Goddawful opposition. He had once chance to ascend into greatness against Hopkins, what does he do? he gets an SD and then refuses a rematch.

    ATG my ass
