In an ideal world i would prefer to have Ireland run according to prevailing Northern European/Nordic standards of course. These countries consistently top every "quality of life " poll and chart.

I simply pick Britain for reasons of it being the more practicaly achievable union. It did exist for centuries and Britain isnt the worst country in the world. It just isnt practical for Ireland to be "Assimilated" into Germany or Austria etc - though obviously in an ideal world union with those those would be FAR preferable to Britain, indeed.

Bottom line - we Irish cant manage it ourselves, Im afraid.

Britain has corruption, crime and all the otehr bad things that Ireland has, just on a larger scale. Where do you think we learned how to run a country?!

Like I said, just get government out of peoples lives and we wont have to worry about how things are "managed"

Interesting question arises here - how did JJN get into the states at all?
The INS are a law unto themselves.
Look at the trouble Martin Murray and Amir Khan have getting in there.
Any whiff of anything they can use to ban you and youre banned it seems - yet his high media profile "adventures" (innocent and all as he apparently was - thats not the point) dont seem to have gone against JJN in getting a visa.
Very inconsistent policy by US authorities it seems.

Martin Murray was convicted of actual crimes. He spent almost 5 years in prison.

And Khan is just given a hard time because of his background. He was still allowed into America and he spends most of his time there training in Oakland.

So, I dont see why it would affect JNN
