The only chance I really gave Patterson was if he would have lost his temper against Mike. It's true that Floyd was intimidated in several key matchups, but he did lose it from time to time (Johansson II), and suddenly, he had some major aggression. He described it as feeling a genuine hatred for his opponent, and when that happened, he attacked. Unfortunately for him, that didn't happen often; he also tried to avoid fighting aggressively. He preferred to circle his opponent and look for openings. Probably not the best strategy for a peek-a-boo style. Muhammad Ali did say that Patterson was the most skilled fighter he ever went up against, however, so we can't rule him out. Could this have been a good brawl.....?

    Tyson in 2 or 3.

To me there's no point in this posting at all, Floyd would have zero chance on his best day of lasting against a prime Tyson's onslaught.

So basically you are putting Floyd in with a carbon copy of himself who is 30 pounds heavier, punches way harder has a much better chin.

Of course there is no such thing as a certain fight, but this is as close as it gets at this level. I don’t know how I would make a case for Patterson, if somebody was paying me to do it.

Can anyone think of an ATG that Patterson could beat?
I can't think of a single one I would bet on Patterson beating.

He has a good chance with any that don't hit particularly hard.

He has the tools to nulify boxing ability.

All anyone has to do is to stand up to the bully... anyone including Floyd just needs to stand up and say NO!, I will not be bullied! Masher! Tyson will then curl into a ball and cry.

    Patterson KO3

tongue in cheek for sure , but the actual logic you are satirising means nothing since Patterson was bowled over twice fast by a big punching behemoth. that's what counts.

although Patterson sure never went down fast to a 37 year old retiree neveracheiver, nor did he run gibbering from rematch with the 38 year old. Now that is the territory of mediocrity.

I think Tyson is all wrong for Patterson. I see Tyson getting to him early and taking him out probably sometime between 1-4.

Well he did say all time greats,,,but I would give him a chance against Tunney and Big Jeff and the same against Walcott.
